Kyrie needs to chill with the team lead stuff. I get that he has his own signature shoe thanks to LeBron (cute), but long-term, the Celtics don't even need him to succeed. Stevens' teams do better when the players just shut up and do their jobs.

Really Kyrie learned well from Lebron didnt he? If he was active on twitter he would post cryptic passive aggressive comments too.

Kobe started winning when they received lobsided talent trades. Kobe never changed

Keep doubting this team. When playoffs come around and guys like Giannis and Lowry start to fold, everyone will be back on Kyrie's nuts again.

While I some what agree Kobe never changed he did start trusting his teammates more on the court.

Is that because of the “lopsided” trades? Probably but still he won went to 3 straight finals and won 2 with Pau Gasol as his second best player. I like Gasol but what we’ve seen Lebron play with since Miami as well as the warriors run, it does make it pretty impressive none the less.

But back to Kyrie, he’s just not as good as he thinks and he’s sure as hell not as good as Kobe Bryant.

Whaddaya mean? Kobe was a great number 2, but what team did he lead?
He's the chucker who needed Pau and Ariza to win him championships right?

And then the bastard accepted their finals MVP awards as if he somehow deserved it

Kobe. Lol. Ignorant fanbois love his game.

Did they NOT get to the conference finals without Kyrie? lol To me, Kyrie is trying to son the young guys because he wants to or sees himself as the alpha dog of this team. He might very well be but this isn't really a sign of a good leader.

This season he's obsessed with trying to act hard, like he's an old wise sage that everyone can learn from.

In this era of NBA ball, there's only a few true alphas. Most are second bananas still in denial that they aren't alphas.

Agreed. Lots of alpha dogs in the 80s/90s. Less in 00's. Not many now.

Unless you are sure 2 other superstars are coming with him, anybody that is paying Kyrie Irving 35 million is gonna regret it.

So 538 ran a piece on Kyrie before LeBron came asking the question if he was worth a max extension. By their metrics he was not. He was pretty darn close, but not good enough to warrant getting one. That piece is just ringing so true right now it hurts. This is probably why Kyrie is cozying back up with LeBron. LeBron, like Harden, makes life easier for his teammates. He covers up their issues pretty dramatically, and because he is such a lightening rod for controversy he sort of takes the brunt even in times he really shouldn't. God, if there was another humongous cap spike we could see Kyrie happily joining the warriors next season just so the guy doesn't have to be the guy anymore.
