I wouldnt worry too much about those tesms being out...they went through, what, picks 15-23? Rockets and boston make up 4 of those picks...boston needed front court help and Melo and Sully covered their exact needs, size and immediate production.

Houston had him on their radar, obviously.

    Dallas was trading their pick.

Magic and Atlanta aren't exactly good drafting teams.

Nuggets are the only team that really passed on him and has recently drafted well. I can see why they'd go with their pick, when they already had a solid frontcourt of Faried and Mcgee and possibly had an eye on Iggy by then, as well..

Oh great short documentary. I like it. Never seen something like this behind the draft. 'Harkless? Seriously?' I like that reaction. Also nice to know Mchale trust Royce. The rest of the room thought he's too risky but McHale, that's cool.

Not so sure if I'm an agent I tell my client that everyone but the coach is against him in an organization before he even has spent a second there but....he looks like he took it positively in the end.

Just think, if Harkless had fallen one more spot, Dwight would now be a Rocket. ;)

McHale is a pretty good at drafting. He is the one that picked Kevin Love. He's just not good at giving out contracts.

He also drafted Kevin Garnett, but besides these to, not much.

He is only good at drafting guys named Kevin. And Royce White is not named Kevin.

He's starting a new trend by getting good with White's.

And Nikola Pekovic. Basically, he's only good at selecting PF's and C's.

damn i hope this kids makes the rotation but he will be hard to place considering he has no real position because of his size.

Royce White actually isn't that short compared to a lot of Power Forwards in the league. For example, guys like David Lee, Josh Smith, and Kevin Love have a height without shoes of 6'7.75" compared to White's 6'7". Putting White at Power Forward shouldn't be a problem if his fundamentals are sound or made sound (please help him McHale).

he needs to use his size to his advantage in the post on offense and defense. Putting him at the SF position will get him killed depending on matchups. If he had more consistant jumpshot he would surely make the rotation as a PF but as of now terrance jones looks like the man for that position

Well, maybe he can be an SF/PF 6th man, kind of like Lamar Odom in a sense, although Carlos Delfino would take away SF minutes. I guess we'll all see how it goes in the preseason.

Thanks a lot for this, really tells a lot about Royce and how things go behind the scenes on draft day. I hope it is true that McHale was pulling for him because that means they will have a good relationship from the start. I really like this kid and he's like Brian Williams aka Bison Dele who also had a lot of issues. If he pulls it together, there's no telling how good he will become. We're rooting for ya Royce!!

I don't see how White and Machado can play together in the same lineup. They have the same strengths/weaknesses.
