So Houston is the only team that really shown interest in him in the middle-early 20's of the draft? Yeah...sounds about right.
I noticed when he was practicing he was the only one wearing a shirt, even the fat guy was shirtless...This shows he is very insecure and has no confidence...just kidding. I can definitely relate to the guy since i also suffer from OCD. I couldn't have handled it any better than he did, seems like he has pretty good control over his disorder... Ive never even been on an airplane, LOL, I would freak out.
He needs to focus on being good at basketball rather than being intriguing. It is known that boring simpletons make the best players.
I remember his fear of flying thing, but didn't know he gets anxiety attacks. My family knows mental illness, so that part of his story resonates with me. I've heard him talk bball in another interview. Articulate, thoughtful, mature person. Totally rooting for him to succeed, bc of his story and his remarkable set of gifts/talents.
Yeah, I’m not sure the agent knew what he was talking about either. Dallas reportedly would have kept their pick and drafted Royce if he was there at 17, so the Rockets grabbing him at 16 makes sense if they had knowledge of that. Since Morey pretty much admitted on the radio that he ranked Zeller over Jones, then the logical thing would have been taking Zeller at 16 and then picking up Royce at 18 if there wasn’t a real fear of Dallas snatching him up. Anyway I’m really happy we got Royce, thanks for sharing the video OP.
Wow. 5 stars and rep to the OP. That was beautifully done; an excellent piece. Credit McHale, Morey and Les for taking a chance. I am pulling for this kid big time. He has tons of heart to go with his talent. I really hope Royce makes teams regret passing on him. He's got a lot of work ahead of him to round out his game, but you have to think from everything we've seen so far that he has the character and the drive to realize his potential.
Nice Video. Royce will get it done in the NBA. I like how he defended Zoran in the Summer League, it is nice to have a player like Royce on the team and I hope it rubs off on the rest of team. This team will not be a push over.

So McHale was pushing for White even when the rest of the Rockets brain trust was "against him"? Or did his agent mean that the other decision makers around the league were against him? I like this guy and I hope he becomes a great player.
all i got from that video was... apparently all the other teams were out. so, we could've gotten royce with a later pick. late picks are easily bought.
Agent was either tempering expectations or needs to get better info. Everyone who is now coming to the conclusion that we reached on him needs to think twice. After all... same source who said we were out at 16. Clearly we weren't... Awesome Video. Going to be pulling for Royce White so hard.
it's hard not to root for the guy. I used to get anxiety attacks. (for different reasons) it does feel like your dying if you don't know what it is. Hope he can make an immediate impact
