I do not know if the person you are responding to is a Christian or not but you do not have a clue about being a Christian if you believe what you said. A true Christian is never "hell-bent" BECAUSE of their belief in Christ.

I will add the events that started this thread are tragic and shocking. Radical Islam is terrible.

I truly respect you and that you do not follow the more radical teachings of Islam but there are some radical text in the teachings. Some Islamic leaders use those texts to promote these types of things which is tragic. Kudos to you for not doing that!!!!

Plenty has started and more need to be done.

Explaining violent radicalization in Western Muslims: A four factor model

    Abstract
Despite being raised in Western countries, experiencing Western culture and freedom, some Muslims radicalize
and choose to join terrorist organizations. The question remains why some Western Muslims choose this path,
and others do not. The current paper identifies four factors. Firstly, identity crisis is discussed; the focus lies on
the struggle of a Western Muslim to maintain a balance between different cultural aspects of identity. Second,
relative deprivation is discussed; it is emphasized that the national as well as international levels of deprivation
experienced by Muslim populations play a major role in the creation of the narrative that the religion of Islam
    and the Muslim community are under attack. Third, the focus is shifted towards more individual factors;
personal characteristics such as narcissistic and sensation-seeking traits possibly push some Western Muslims to
resort to violence and terrorism. Fourth, empathy is discussed; while Western Muslims reverting to terror seem
to strongly empathize with the Muslim population, which is considered to be their in-group, they simultaneously
seem to display a complete lack of empathy towards the innocent civilians affected by terrorist attacks.

I don't understand your point. When people bring up climate, at least in this context, they're not talking about the survival of the Earth or its climate system, but the survival of human populations under a changing climate system. That's a hugely important practical matter that we need to take steps to deal with. How we go about dealing with the problem is up for debate, but at least we should all acknowledge there is a serious problem there to be dealt with.

Exactly the kind of western born traveler through a war torn nation that Obama would have banned entering the US under his own admin's policies

Seems odd then that the most dedicated climate change activists are all about population control, forced abortions and sterilizations. Almost as if it is all a bunch of BS.

I don't see how supporting regulated population control means you don't care about preventing masses of people from being killed off due to droughts, starvation, major economic disruption, political unrest, etc. They seem pretty different to me, unless by "population control" you're talking about going around killing people. Is that what climate change activists are advocating, in your view?

So your argument is that climate change "activists" support starvation as a means for population control?

Another's question: do you think population control and conservation are fundamentally in opposition?

IS that what I said? They speak for themselves quite loudly. I find it interesting you have never heard them. Pull your fingers out of your ears.

I think we have the wherewithal today to sacrifice Middle-eastern sources of oil. There are many parts of the world that produce oil. And we have the technology to shift to natural gas and other sources of energy to optimize an economy that denied itself access to ME oil. It might not be financially the most efficient thing, but I think we can definitely do it if that was our political will. But, I don't think that's why we can't stop meddling in the ME. One, we stay involved in pretty much every corner of the planet to exert what influence we're able, to assure and promote American hegemony. Two, I think we see our stable of ME dictators (Saudi, formerly Mubarak in Egypt) and democracies (Israel, formerly Turkey, hopefully Iraq) as the lid on a very combustible region that is going to cause massive turmoil on the world stage. If we decide we're just going to wash our hands of Saudi Arabia and the whole middle east, it's going to come back and bit us in the ass. That doesn't mean we have to support dictators, but we've already seen something of the price of instability in Iraq, Syria, and Libya. It's dangerous to turn our backs.

I think we didn't expect any better from you, which is why you haven't gotten as much flak as you should normally expect. But your suggestion -- Trump's suggestion -- is more than simply "not PC."

I'm attempting to make some sense out of your responses to me. Note that I put my response in the form of a question.

If you don't want to help me understand your position, that's your choice.

As am I. I find it baffling my posts are the first time you have come across this. To the point that it defies believability. Watch The Vasectomist. He made his daughter cry at a dimly lit dinner table because she felt guilty for being born and using energy.
