Let's do it boys. $20 to the tip jar right1 - Tyler White will hit .300 for a full MLB season, minimum 400 at bats. Nook - Tyler White will hit .300 and have a .400 OBP for a full MLB season, minimum 400 at bats CometsWin - Oh hell no.
I never said he would or wouldn't ..... I said I wouldn't rule it.... The initial post was about how Reed and White were better options than Carter.... then CrashDavis went on the rag and all hell broke loose. Do you seriously want to make a wager that we won't know the winner for 10-15 years?
Again you said a .370 hitter in 1st year of AAA would be better than Carter. That was your initial post. Something about goalposts moving... But hey I'm the one that uses actual facts and stats. (Still waiting on the link for both of my questions) Just trying to have a discussion. Not that big of deal or so I thought lol. Take it easy my fellow 'stros fan. I'll put up 20 if we sweep that team from Oklahoma if yall are in a betting mood.
I'd rather place a bet on whether or not anyone will actually remember this bet in 10-15 years when White finally, completely hangs it up...but then I'd be pretty sure that no one would remember my bet in 10-15 years when Tyler White finally hangs it up.
Let's look at Evan Gattis. At AA at age 25 he only had a total of 182 AB's and hit .258 avg. He only had a whopping total of 38 AB's at AAA. He was handed a major platoon role for two years in Atlanta before coming to play for the 'Stros who have given him a full time DH role and 540 AB's this year. At age 28 he has a career .243 avg. and a .294 on base percentage. He proved little in the minors AA/AAA and was very mediocre for the Braves before being given 540 AB's for the Astros. Who would you rather DH for this team?
I bet that Carlos Correa will have at least 500 HR's in his career. Anyone want to make a $20 bet and a round of beer that he doesnt? When it's time to pay up we can each take our Space Car's and meet up at the Orion II space station.
I'll rule it out. So let's bet. I seriously doubt Tyler White is in for a 10-15 year career so I'm pretty comfortable remembering this one.
I finally got to see him play the other day. Looks like one of those professional hitter types, Dave Magadan comes to mind. I'm still pretty confident about winning this one though.
how so? He does what he's always done, hit. At every level, every league, every where. Singleton is awesome in the minors, sucky in the majors. He is an enigma in that sense. White just hits hits hits hits hiiiits ....you know he jus' hits hits hits hits hits (sing to the tune of Rihanna's "work work work")
Tyler White is a SuperStar lol. Who knew hahaha! Astros need to fix their starting pitching and Giles.
He's been great so far. His power is what has impressed me most. I figured he might be capable up putting up a .300 average or close to it, but he's been hammering the ball the first few games. If he can hit 25-30 HRs...honestly anything over 20 I would be thrilled. Might have been a really good decision to let Carter go after all. Fingers crossed we'll see.
