Wait a second... You didn't even get to see him play until "the other day" and you are so adamant about what he can or cannot do?

    You are something else...

You never saw him play a single game against MLB competition and you said he'd hit .300 with a .400 obp. Uh... mkay.

What I can do that you can't apparently is read stats and from what I recall there were three guys in all of MLB last year that hit .300 and had a .400 OBP and they were Bryce Harper, Paul Goldschmidt, and Miguel Cabrera. So I'm feeling pretty good about that one and I could be spectacularly wrong which would be freaking awesome but the overwhelming odds are with me.

Actually I believe I said I wouldn't be shocked or surprised if he had a season where he went 300/400 ..... But then again I had seen quite a few of his at bats from A through AAA, how his swing had changed, how hard he worked on his body and knew that he watched more tape than anyone the Astros staff has come across ever. He has a very high baseball IQ and will get the absolute most out of his ability. He may fade into oblivion, get hurt or have issues when pitchers make adjustments.... There just comes a point when a player hits at every level at a very high level, makes adjustments at the next level and has natural aptitude for hitting... That you throw your hands up and say, he may not be a high draft pick and may not be built like Manny Ramirez, but he can just hit.

I am just surprised you were so adamant about a player that had succeeded at every level and that you had never seen play a single game.

He's also the leader in WAR...ton of hits, ton of HRs early. Likely the leader in a bunch of stats right now.

Who does he remind y'all of? Carlos Lee maybe?

Carlos Lee was good for .285 BA .340 OBP 25 homers. Maybe less power from White but possibly some higher BA and OBP?

Right now, Albert Pujols. In reality, peak Kevin Millar

Kind funny that he leads in WAR. Astros are 1-3 with him in the starting lineup. :)

Yeah but you can't put that on 'The Great White'. Astros pitchers have just been giving up too many runs.

    Reed.

White's hot start shouldn't have us taking shots at our top prospect, right?

If White continues to rake like he has, I'll almost be glad we have to trot out a DH.

    There, I said it.

Which #'s will he be closer to?
    .297/.408/32 HR or .274/.358/18 HR
    Bagwell or Millar?

I agree. I'll take AJ at 1B and White at DH for the next 10 years.

Agree, maybe instead of saying AJ who is Jon who?

Hopefully Singleton hits a ton this year in triple a and help us get another quality starter.

    Likely a mix

His background says the .297/.408 would be more likely than the 32 HR

If you told me right now he was going to go .297/.385 with 18 HR, i'm all in
