Yep, plus D-Mo had 5 as well. And the other thing is if Jeff Adrien scored 17 by shooting 7-11. If Jeff Adrien can play that well then it highlights the low level of competition.
Maybe he turned it on in the second half? In the first half, he dominated the ball and made a ton of mistakes. It's possible to have a decent box score and be a negative player, as Mike James, Corey Maggette, and Ricky Davis have shown.
Actually Daryl Morey was on yesterday during the broadcast, and was saying that the NBDL was a higher level of competition then college. He concluded to say that anyone of the NBDL team's could challenge for the national title at the NCAA level.
This is really cool that these games are streamed for free. You can still watch the game in the OP. God Bless David Stern Spoiler Edit: Just finished watching the game. Decent showing from DMo. Really would like him to try harder on the boards. Machado... not so great. Looks like he should get comfortable down in RGV.
Heads up: Second game of the season starts in an hour and a half. This should be the working link: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/RtpeOZpCIAw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Nobody is looking to get the ball to D-Mo, and he has had position on his opponent every time down the post.
Question: Do you guys feel like Motiejunas can develop into what we need? A low-post scoring threat with some range on his shot? I feel like the groundwork is already there for him to become a scoring threat. We all worry about his defense and rebounding, but I feel those can be developed much easier than a player's postwork.
I feel confident he can develop a nice offensive game. I'm still not sure he can develop the necessary physicality to succeed in the league yet. I sure hope so. He plays soft.
I like what I am seeing out of D-Mo. He is being double teamed and triple teamed in the post. He spins away from the double team towards the baseline and nails a left hook. Hope he gets some playing time when he gets called back up.
D-Mo's skillset at the PF position fills in our offensive needs pretty perfectly. He's a very polished low-post scorer, a good passer, and a capable face up shooter with 3-point range. The problem is that he looks to be a poor rebounder/defender. I wish we could accelerate his development so that he becomes a major contributor this year, but that will be tough with Patterson, Morris, and Jones ahead of him in the rotation.
