Unfortunately, MVP caliber players are rarely found within assholes. Doubt Daryl's is an exception.

    Again this is all talk.

I never said there is no chance for the Rockets

but it could easily end up worse than you thought.

I also think they will do at least better than 41 wins.

Sign me up for negative optimism here.

Talent wise on paper we improved, but my name power and offseason expectations we took a step back. In reality we now have better finishers. Our offense last year was ranked high but was really bad, with better finishers our ranking maybe be a little higher but we will be a lot more consistent than last year and a better end of game team. Last year Houston lost so many games at the free throw and because of end of game execution. Our additions to this point has been centered around shooting these guys will stay on the court no more "Hack a Howard". Coaching and a good point guard can handle the end of game execution problem.

Thought Trey Burke for a second rounder was something we should have went after BTW. I am really not sure what the Rockets are looking or waiting for in acquiring a point guard.

    In 14-15 season,

Westbrook played 40 games w/o Durant and had 22-18 record.

When WB & Durant both played, OKC went 18-9.

When WB & Durant both were injured, they went 7-8.

That's how they ended up with 47-35 regular season record that year.

So, no WB is NOT that good.

Even this this year, OKC won just 55 games, that's 1 game short of Houston's 14-15 season where basically it was just Harden and no one else.

If we can get a C that all he does is rebound, protect the rim, and set picks and is content with that, we will be a really good team. Sharing the minutes with Capela, cause he's still too light in the butt. Too bad we couldn't get Bogut.

While I think Capela will be a capable rebounder..... we still lost 2 of the best rebounders of the last years

    Asik and Howard

    It will hard to compensate.

Rebounds don't matter if we make our shots

This logic is questionable. There are many players on a team, not just two.

Westbrook was far superior to harden last year

Last year WB was a better player sure, but I'm saying he wasn't all that effective leading his team in 14-15 w/o Durant. Many players were out besides Durant, but so was Houston, and Harden led his team way better than WB did when they had to carry their team single-handedly.

I agree with this. I don't agree that offense "wasn't a problem for us". I think it was a huge problem - just because we were up there in PPG doesn't mean we were a great offense. We were inefficient, had terrible ball movement, and we would crumble down the stretch because nobody other than Harden could handle the ball or score.

I'm hopeful that with our additions and D'Antoni all of the above will improve.

I can't believe so many of you guys think we might miss the playoffs?

    Wow!!!!

We still Have Harden and now some shooters. That's prob good enough for 50 wins honestly. Portland did nothing adding turner was dumb. Memphis made a nice pick up in parsons but there big 3 all have big injury questions and I would be shocked if atleast one or not 2 are not playing by the playoffs then you have the clippers and okc who I think will regress clippers have already started they were not as good as years past last season. And I guess the Jazz will be The jazz which is the rockets before we got harden.

that's what we're gonna find out next season, but Harden did get a little complacent last year with dating Kardashian and not getting into shape at the beginning of the season (although some of it was due to ankle injury.) I don't think he will repeat that this year.

We'll see. But even if he does return to MVP form the team doesnt have a second guy like Dwight anymore
