If he wants out, then we need to trade him within the next week or so.. it just becomes a distraction... he probably won't play tonight as well..

Trade Omer, Parsons, Dmo for a defensive wing stopper at SF and an above average PF.

Have Greg Smith back up Dwight Howard, and Jones at backup PF.

Should have traded him right when we signed Howard, Asik's value was the highest then. Now his value has dropped until the trade deadline. Hopefully we can hold off till them but I don't think it will. I think we must get a legit back up center in a deal along with a good player. Hopefully TJones continues to play well, he is now the x-factor.

Maybe, but Morey is not one to panic trade a player just because he isn't happy. He waited to trade an unhappy Lowry until he got the asset that he wanted (the Toronto pick) and held on to an unhappy Kevin Martin until the Harden deal. He even held on to Terrence Williams until after the trade deadline when his expiring contract was no longer needed for salary-matching purposes.

My guess: This probably won't matter a whole lot in the greater scheme of things. There will be multiple teams needing a center and Morey is going to take the best available deal out of the potential trade partners.

It's not about when his value is supposedly highest. People argued that Kevin Martin was "another asset held onto too long" back then and Morey should have traded him when his value was high with Adelman. Turned out OK. Maybe Martin's value wasn't the highest back then, but he was an asset and, used in combination with others, was able to be exchanged for a player that the team really wanted and needed.

The NBA trades are not a liquid market. You can't just find a buyer for a player when his value peaks, keep the proceeds and then spend it on another guy that you'd want. Maybe Asik's value was higher in the summer, but were there any teams with a player or assets that Houston wanted that they'd trade for Asik (or Asik + other assets)? If not, then like with the Kevin Martin situation, you may be better off waiting even if Asik's value goes down a bit.

Good for Omer. Don't waste the best years of your career sitting on the bench. This is what happens when you treat everyone like an asset. Sometimes your assets don't cooperate.

    Don't be ridiculous.

Of course he wants out now that he isn't a starter, and he should want out. It's not like he is going to get starters minutes like Lin. He's only going to get 12-15 minutes on most nights. You can't expect him to be happy about that. And I fully expect him to be professional and play hard as long as he's a Rocket.

Omer is a good guy and has been a good Rocket. Unlucky for him that we acquired Dwight.

Al Horford maybe? Atlanta is playing him at Center, but his natural position is PF. There have been rumors about him wanting a trade. I would like to get a PF that can step out and shoot as well as rebound. I don't like the idea of another undersized PF in Paul Millsap.

Morey will be going on 790 tomorrow morning, but I'm guessing he'll say "no comment"

Why should he wait? He is entitled to seek a new job opportunity whenever he feels. Its america. Just because he plays basketball doesn't mean he is absent a choice.

Paul Millsap is great. Dude has a work ethic. Could be very well compliment with Dwight. With the right asking price though.

Good, never thought he would put his ego over the team, very disappointing but his play wasn't anything to write home about.

Lin will ask next if Mchale doesn't let him finish games

they cater to asik let him start in a controversial TT line up, when he ask for a trade in offseason when we have a clear better center.

Lin starts all 82 games and gets sent to the bench for a FIT reason, when the starter is not a clear all around better player than he is.

seem like asik is not going to beat around the bush with them which is understandable since he is looking at his careers future

Yep. Not like good centers are growing on trees.

Not sure what we can get for him. Morey always pleasantly surprises though. Welcome Greg Monroe to the Rockets :p

If Asik was better he'd play more. If you have Chris Paul with tony Parker behind him, you find a way to get Parker a bunch of minutes.

Asik isn't good enough to force that kind of situation. Mchale was ok with playing Asik 4 mins last night. No way you play a guy for 4 mins if you think he's some beast.
