There was a time when Euro players were happy enough just to be in the NBA and getting paid famously. (2nd round pick)

Doesn't look good. (Of course I could be wrong.)

This is horrible because asik is going to go with at least another player. If it is for an all star, then it might be Lin. Sucks when players demand a trade because usually someone Else's life gets impacted.

I think Lin would be happy if he got traded too.

Like I said in another thread, Asik is not bigger than the team. I know he wants to continue to grow as a player but not at the expense of the team. He's going to have to be patient though for the right trade situation that will work best for him, the Rockets and the trading team. This was very predictable after Howard trade.

I duno, I think that may not really be the case. Regardless the Dwight effect is horrible in my opinion.

Actually Lin embracing and thriving in the 6th man role could keep him here.

Asik and Bev for Rondo is interesting.

Should have kept Asik/Dwight with Lin in the starting lineup for a little bit longer. It worked okay for the first 5 games.

great young player but he's a specialist...and his ability is rebounding and hustle, not really his shot.

I like him a lot but he'd just clog up the paint like Asik does.

Howard can't be taking those fouls so early in the game. Just let it go

Teams will definitely low ball the Rockets and Houston is losing leverage because of this. It would have been much better for Asik to be a professional and accept his new role without sulking, looking unmotivated out there, and requesting to be traded knowing that request would become public in this day and age. The Rockets offered him a good contract and the opportunity to prove himself when nobody else did, and this is how he repays the team. D12 is just a better player than him.

Now for those saying that Morey won't get lowballed and will hold on to his "asset" until he gets what he wants are ignoring the fact that having an unmotivated player like Asik on your team is a detriment and distraction and the Rockets lose time and resources because of it. The window to win a championship is small and doesn't stay open for long. I would say wait until the trade deadline and then go after a 3rd all-star.

    He's thriving but not embracing.

Since TT is a bust, his new role is no role at all. He has every right to request a trade. He deserves a trade, and I'm pretty sure Morey wants to trade him anyway if he can't play next to Dwight.

Exactly. Asik is coming off as little bit of a whiner here. The Rockets gave him a lot of money and raised his profile tremendously. I would understand if he hadn't played for half-a-season and made this demand. But after 5-6 games it's just ridiculous.

It's not like this is an All-Star player making a trade-demand here. He's a good solid player, but the Rockets should not trade him before they're ready.
