He was rushed through the minors and lost an entire year to a knee injury, and then a large chunk of the offseason to a foot injury. The most positive thing to consider is that Castro struggled initially at AA and AAA, but improved throughout those seasons. Obviously he needs to play much better, but let's give him the full season. Regardless, Snyder has been even worse. 1-16 (that hit being a single) with 8 strikeouts and 0 walks. When you thought no team could be getting less out of their catchers offensively than the Astros over the past decade, they prove you wrong.
Before what? Were you expecting contention this season? Are you disappointed in something? [Dennis Green]They are who we thought they were.[/Dennis Green]
At no point should Wesley Wright be on a Major League roster except in an extreme long relief role where he only pitches in a 10+ run game. Complete and utter trash.
Wesley Wright is absolutely horrible. I wish they would release him and Lyon. Bringing up any two random guys from AAA would produce similar results.
If Rhiner pitches that inning from the start, we win the game imo. Why is Mills pissing about when we haven't won since opening weekend??
Mills deserves the loss for having the gall to put Wright out there... but as an umpire, how in the hell are you going to call that outside corner for strike 3 after letting the Nats walk in the tying run (and move winning run to 3rd) on a clear strike?
oh nooo Lucas has pitched well so far but the Astros are starting to look bad. Starting to slowly get exposed in our weakness. All these 1 run games are killing us!
Mills needs to trust his young pitchers like he does with his young hitters. A 4 game sweep would be really depressing with how well the Astros have competed in all these games. Let's hope they can pull one out tomorrow.
