Well, considering how great this series was last year, we might as well have a thread on this year's ALCS. So, I will start it off. However, I will say that other than this post, the only other post (I hope) that you will see from me in this thread is to either celebrate the Red Sox winning or congratulating the Yankees on yet another pennant. Call it a test of willpower. I will say that I really think that this Red Sox team is the best I have ever seen, in my lifetime - even better than the '86 team. Hopefully they will get it done. GO SOX!!!
I cannot wait for the first pitch that comes in high and inside...it'll be on after that. LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!! Life-long Yankee hater!!! Go Sox!
I had no idea these two teams were playing in the ALCS. You would think Fox would at least promote it a little bit. The national media NEVER says anything about the Yankees or Red Sox...
Yah those promos last nite during the Astros game was ridiculous... I doubt tonites ALCS will get interrupted as frequently with promos for Game 1 of the NLCS tommorrow nite... but what do I know, its FOX. BTW... Red Sox in 7, MVP Curt Schilling
Did any get the feeling that the Astros/Braves series should have been named: Astros Vs. Braves: Special Moments Between Chipper Jones and his dad
As usual I will be rooting for the Yankees, but this is the best Red Sox team I have seen. Our pitching is suspect at best so I believe it will a VERY tough series for the guys in pinstripes. Good Luck Manny
I believe this is the Red Sox' year. They destroyed a very talented and hot Angels team. I think they will devastate NY's battered starting pitching. I think Schilling gives them a confidence that they didn't have last year -- and they should have won last year if it weren't for Grady's blunder.
My thoughts exactly. Of course, it has to come the same year I'd rather the Yankees win since I think we'd be more likely to beat them in the WS.
I was about to kill the announcers as they discussed over and over as nauseum Oswalts pitch count. Even when he was running the bases. Somebody please ban fox from talking pitch count ever again.
yankees are in trouble, they don't have Pettitte this year, "what can Brown do for you", thats what Joe better ask himself. but then again, they do have some serious offense. betwen jeter, a-rod, and sheff, they could be dangerous with their bats. give me at least one bench clearing brawl and i'll be happy. I'll admit, i got caught up in Yankee Mystique living up here, I am a follower of whatever local team is playing, not saying I am pulling for either team., but the yankees are so 2000. at the same time, watching Boston fans suffer isnt so bad either... lets see wht transgresses, yankees somehow pull it out in 7
No predictions here! May the best team win! Go Yankees!!!!! And I must say! I'm very happy for the Astros too!
I think the Sox get over on the Yankees. Too much pitching. Unfortunately I think the curse continues when they come across St. louis in the Series.
Yanks will call Shilling their daddy tonight. The only worry for the Sox is after Shilling and Pedro, the pitching drops to the Lieber and Vasquez level. Sox roll in game 1 & 2. Game 3 should be a rock fight.
