The Texans would regret letting O'Brien go. Maybe Lance's story signals a.....Duh duh duh.....Plot twist. Maybe it signifies that O'Brien, in fact, got more power, like he asked for, over the offseason and that the sources he talked to have either not been given correct information (smokescreens to allow the trade up), or simply don't have the correct connections any longer. This draft, to me, is similar to last year's in the sense that we had a list of needs to address and we did. But we did it smartly. We didn't reach for anyone (except for maybe Decoud, IMO), but we were still able to address those needs. In fact, we got excellent value from just about every pick. That's a welcome change to me. It makes me think that either Rick Smith has suddenly turned some corner (maybe Kubiak and Wade we're holding him back....Which I doubt) or it signals O'Brien's influence. I choose the latter.
My only knock on the draft would be the Decoud pick. I think they shold have taken a shot at getting another linemen. I hope Decoud proves me wrong.
Here's a better game... Drink everytime that praise a non-intangible quality. Hint: Don't even bother opening the bottle.
