There's a scenario where he just cares about money and goes to the franchise that will offer him the most money with an extension. He still gets to use the no trade clause... There's so many other scenarios for the other stuff you wrote...
Beggars can't be choosers.. Especially a team that's Broke! So what better option you have? Buy Out Melo at the MLE is better than Hoodie Melo and 15 million 0-12 Ariza! at least Melo can take his Man off dribble.. So what's the alternative? what other person you can get at 5 million better than Melo?
A deal was in place to send him to Houston last year, and it fell through. I believe Melo is quoted as saying that himself. Hard to imagine he’s suddenly not keen to play with Houston. Hasn’t even been a year since all those hoodie pickup games with CP and Harden that lead to his request for a trade. Literally nothing standing in his way to get here now...
My take on Melo is that I trust Morey's assessment on NBA veterans. The man has had a LOT of time to look at Melo over the last year. If he pushes for Melo and gets the guy to sign here, then I trust that he's crunched the numbers and believes Melo will improve the team. If he doesn't push for Melo and Melo goes elsewhere, clearly he felt otherwise. I'm fine with it either way, but Morey has a good enough track record with the evaluations of veteran players to get the benefit of the doubt here.
Why bother with Melo when I Can just sign Iso Joe to a min deal and get the same player without the headaches ?!
Yeah , I Know but …. I expect him to look just like Iso Joe in this offense. Terrible and horribly inefficient.
I dont even think you watched melo last year. During the season he was part of the best +/- lineup pre roberson injury. He also was in several backup units with the thunder as a + lineup on the floor. Someone broke it down on a thunder forum I was looking at yesterday Hate him all you want. Hes not a perfect player. But he isnt what you just saw in utah series last year.
I feel like he might sign with us this time....I dont know if that's good or not. On one hand....I wonder if he he'd really bolster our offense. On the other......man, I dont like Harden and Melo in at the same time. That's like asking to be taken advantage of. BUUUT...then again we did play Anderson so ehh.
Nothing bad/wrong, was just thinking about how we (at least some of us) already miss and would love to have back Trevor, i also expect Phoenix to keep him till the end of the season but hopefully i'm wrong and he doesn't join GS lol
That's the memory I have burning in the front of my mind …. and he / they were terrible against Utah. It's hard to put that away …. and think he's magically going to be Prime Melo.
