Sounds like we just might score that Touchdown after all. Only took a year

I’m not ignoring anything...”we have no money so we might as well add Melo” and “if we had Melo we would’ve won game 6 or 7” or other “Melo is the answer” type posts are 2 completely different arguments

What the **** is this jumbled mess

Why is Jabari a 2 guard? Why do we have Brook Lopez? Why is Melo starting over PJ?

You have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain by acquiring Melo.

    It's as simple as that.

    Wasteful

No point in stacking the Roster like this when Dantoni will still roll out a 7 man rotation in the playoffs.

    Interesting.

Wade could be good EG insurance just in case he gets traded

It would be so satisfying to be the team Cp3, Melo, MDA, and Harden all get their title with ending all the narratives at once

At this point I would take the possible signing of Melo the same way I looked at Ty Lawson's trade. I'll welcome it with limited expectations because Melo would need to start (based on his past comments) at SF with PJ tucker at the PF.

Entirely optimistic that he chooses us over other teams.

I don’t understand why anyone thinks Carmelo makes this team better. He doesn’t defend, he’s not a good 3-point shooter, not a good ball mover, and he’s sulks if he’s not getting enough touches.

I can only see downside in adding him.

Because he's still a solid, if not elite, scorer (one that can create his own shot) that fills a need.

    Almost had it.

Melo gets bought out. We get him for MLE and keep Ryan’s contract. (MLE+Ryan contract ~ Melo’s contract).

Next year or later this year, trade Ryan (expiring) for a $20m player or 2. Should be some quality there.

Still better than Anderson... who managed to ‘play’ 26 mpg last year.

Dream scenario right now would be

    Retain luc
    Melo buyout minimum
Use andersons contract with picks and gordon to swing a jimmy butler deal. Need a 3rd team though
Get a deal worked out reasonable longterm with capela
Phoenix buyout ariza at deadline and he comes back.

    Go into playoffs with

    Paul/mcw
    Harden/green
    Butler/Ariza
    Melo/LMAM
    Capela/Tucker

Thats a legit team vs gs. So many moveable parts and lineups
