More help is simply a red herring. Steve Nash had way more help than Harden in his MVP years, why they weren't talking about giving it to Kobe those years instead.
On the other hand, I would give the MVP to Devin Booker this year b/c without him I don't think the Sun could win even 5 games, if help is that important of an factor.
Taking out any superstar to a team is going to have a devastating effect to that team. The question is really switching teams, can Harden do better than Wes? YES.

I am confused here. Who is he? LBJ with the beard, Harden with the headband, or just a random dude.

But, yeah, like what he said.

So if we want harden to win MVP we get rid of Anderson and Gordon got it. Because Anderson and Gordon are superstars. Maybe they should go team up with Anthony Davis and win a championship

Wish they would just come out and say a MVP can't have a youtube video of terrible defense. That's really what they wanna say!

This is now getting embarrassingly remedial for high paid "experts".

Harden is winning and elevating his team, russ isn't.

Russ is simply gettin stats at the back of the playoffs picture, that's not the MVP criteria over the last 25 years.

Hell not even 2 years ago when the motto to validate Curry over Harden was "best player on best team".

James Harden this season has made the players around him so much better. He makes them look better than they are.

WB is on a personal mission to prove the NBA wrong and doesn't care about his teammates. Just about his personal stats. WB is making his supporting cast look less than what they are.

Gibson was acquired at the trade deadline, Kanter is an isolation player who leads the 2nd unit, and Adams isn't anything special in terms of finishing the pick and roll.

Harden's superior assist numbers can be explained by his superior passing as well as his superior finishers. His teammates are also better scorers than Westbrook's so he can be more selective with his shots. And who cares what experts predicted before the season started? We've been a lot healthier than anyone expected.

How has Harden made Gordon/Anderson better? If anything, Gordon/Anderson's increased range while maintaining career percentages has made Harden better since it gives him much more space with which to work and takes away a rim defender.

I wonder what those OKC guys will be ranked next year. Westbrook made them obsolete. Here, have my rebounds. I don't want to get paid anyways.

And when Westbrook missed the playoffs without KD and Anthony Davis could only lead Anderson and Gordon to the 8th seed ahead of Westbrook? What did Harden do other than lead the Rockets to the 2nd seed without another All-Star and Dwight missing half the season and being ineffective while he played? You think Westbrook would have led D-MO, Ariza, and 37-year-old Jason Terry to the same record and 2nd seed?

James Harden clearly has the better track record as the player who makes his team just that much better. He's basically alone with LeBron in that regard. But, people want to pretend now that he is only leading his team to a better record b/c he has a better team.

So, basically no one cares in 2015 when Harden had a worse team than Curry, but now in 2017, the argument is that Harden has a better system and team than Westbrook.

Can we just flat out admit that whoever created that defensive lowlight compilation on YouTube ruined the very idea of James Harden as a legend or MVP? We're talking about a player who averages over 27, 6 and 7.5 in his only seasons as a full-time starter. Imagine what his totals and career average would be if he got to start on a bad team since he was a rookie. We're talking about a guy who is about to be robbed of a 2nd MVP for 2 of the exact same arguments with differing results based on just not wanting Harden to win. First it's Curry has a better team with 3 other all stars so Harden should not win for being 2nd seed behind them and not having any All-Star teammates. Now it's Harden should not win an MVP for having a better record without any All-Stars.

    YouTube crippled James Harden's legacy.

I still fully predict James Harden is going to check out after Westbrook wins MVP. Not that it will start in the playoffs against OKC, but we might very well see a 7 game series where we lose. It's still very possible. If that happens, i have no doubt Harden will coast til he demands a trade to go home to LA who will give him another superstar teammate that we couldn't deliver on.

This is not the answer most rockets fans want to hear but it is very true. Unless we can find Harden some help soon we might lose this guy. He is a freaking stud and it is the team's duty to get him that star that will compliment his game.
