Ha. That will be quite the dilemma for ESPN. They have to drop their ranking below the Rockets players to keep up the narrative that WB has no help, but then they have to explain that each got worse with WB, and Harden's teammates got better.

Must log this for future reference

The ESPN logical foundation is becoming more and more convoluted.

And rest assured, I recently opened up a server farm in Temecula to keep track of all this logging.

It is Paul Bunyan level sh-t these days.

Understand your counterpoints, however, if you put James with Ok City, they wouldn't be in the playoff race. Also, Westbrook definitely plays defense at a higher level than James. Our defense is designed to let James stay in the paint, which creates mismatches and leads to poor rebounding by the Rockets because James isn't rebounding at high level on the defensive end.

Bottom line, I've been a Rockets Fan since 86 but the eyes don't lie. Westbrook is the MVP and James needs to get focused on winning titles. Also, Westbrook has the backing of MJ the G.O.A.T

There will never be another candidate in the history of the NBA where "too much help" is viewed as a penalty, and there will never be another candidate in the history of the NBA to be accused of "too much help" while having zero additional all stars on the roster.

Rockets have the better team, but that shouldn't matter.

It should matter, because Harden is making them a better team.

I don't really think that. Before this season, nobody cared about Eric Gordon or Ryan Anderson. If you look at OKC's roster, they have some very serviceable talent like we do. We just do a better job at maximizing our players

That's b/c Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson were on a bad team and considered "injury risks". Our roster is clearly better than OKC's, and frankly, it isn't debatable. We have established vets (Ariza (31)/Gordon (28)/Anderson (28)/Nene (34)/Beverley (28)) as the cornerstone of our supporting cast. Assuming health, we knew what to expect from them.

On the other hand, OKC has a roster full of young players (Oladipo (24), Roberson (25), Adams (23), Kanter (24), Sabonis (20)). Their contracts were signed based on their youth and potential. Can you honestly look at the OKC roster and tell yourself "this is a roster built to win now"?

you didnt know? there's actually a person on the board that would take a roberson over ariza. of course okc's roster is better . then also apparently kanter > nene

being fed the ball and used as a significant role players on our team has something to do with health...harden has had psychosomatic influence on health of ryan and eric and they wouldnt be as healthy playing with westbrooke

Stop looking at one side of the ball. OKC's defense is better than ours, with both eye-test and DRtg stats. They are #9 in the league, and we are 17th. They are also 2nd in the league in ORB%, which is a big reason why they beat SAS in the playoffs last year.

The focus seems to be on offense only to say Harden's individual stats benefits from better role players. But the argument is more about Team Wins. In that regard, OKC has better balance when you include rebounding, rim protection and defense....so there is less or no excuse for a drastic difference in Wins.

@heypartner The media doesn't care about defense unless it is used to clown on Harden.

Offense has always been more important than defense. You can look at the ORtg/DRtg numbers to confirm this. OKC is #15 in ORtg and #9 in DRtg. Their record is 43-31. Boston is #9 in ORtg and #14 in DRtg. Their record is 48-27.

Of course there is. Our team wins benefit from us having significantly better role players. Although OKC has a better "balance", that only translates into a DRtg of 107.6. Our DRtg is 108.5. The difference is less than a point. Meanwhile, our ORtg is better by 6.7 points.

Except for earlier this month when "Kashi 4 MVP" was the hot new thing
