The rockets have to match everything exactly, right, even the option?

So it's really a 2 yr deal with a player option for the third year?

On the surface it sounds like CP just screwed over HOU... or is everyone just jumping to conclusions?

The fact that it was with the stupid Mavs, though... ouch!

This should serve morey right. Morey deserve this punishment for treating players like disposable assets over the years.

I think he will let parsons walk away just like bulls let asik away n knicks let lin away. Parsons is not worth $15millions/yr as at from now. We dont know what happen in the next 2 years.

I think the Rockets have to match especially if they don't get Bosh, unless of course they sign Lance stevenson or Deng instead.

But if they fail to get one of those three, the Rocket have to match or end up with a team consisting only of Howard, Tjones, Caspi? Ariza? , Harden, Beverley/Lin.

In regards to cap space going forward, assuming the rockets do not match and do not sign any contract longer than 1 year, they'd have 38 million committed (Harden/Howard) for 2015/2016, leaving them 25-28 million to fill out the other 10 spots. The possible UFA of note are, Love, Aldridge, Rondo Ellis and Dragic, none of them guaranteed to be available in a years time.

Please let it not be a perfect storm of McHale being retained as head coach, no quality assistant coaches brought in to cover for him, no big name free agent signings, AND Chandler Parsons leaving with the Rockets getting nothing in return(and signing with the division rival Mavs for chrissakes!).

If that's how this offseason pans out, we may as well start looking ahead to 2015.

no, that is not true. His cap hold is still <$2m until we match the offer, so it still gives us the 3 days to dump Lin and sign whatever free agents possible before matching. Hopefully Bosh decides to grow a pair and make his own decision instead of holding onto Lebron's left nut waiting for him to make his decision.

    My guess:

Morey lands Bosh, he'll match. Morey loses out on Bosh, he'll let Cuban overpay for Parsons.

Some people think they can get Deng/Ariza instead. Technically, they could, but that would mean they aren't getting Bosh.

Morey should have traded him when he could to Boston for Rondo. Now he has to either over pay or let him walk...smh

Love parsons, but I don't think he's worth anywhere near that much. Even if we get Bosh or whoever in time I don't think we will get him back.

That option....falls on the same year that a good friend of James Harden becomes a free agent.

Morey reminds me of that drug dealer that made enough money but got too greedy and didn't know when to get out the game...

Translation : you got 2 stars back to back...won 54 games, would've had $18-20mill to get solid role players, then resign parsons & GET A NEW HEAD COACH

instead he tries to waist time being greedy going after a melo a guy who doesn't even fit, & then embarrass one of your players in the process #karma, the waits on a older player gets desperate and throws all the cap money on him...

Yes, and I think that's the most likely scenario.
