NO TO DENG. He's pretty awful at this point and it sounds like he wants a comparable contract to Parsons. He's a career 32% 3P shooter and takes a lot of long twos. Sounds like Morey's worst nightmare. His win shares have been declining year over year and was a joke compared to Parsons. Ariza is the way to go if we don't get Parsons.

Federer lost, Netherlands lost, and now the Rockets are about to lose Parsons to the Mavs. Can my life get any better?

With Les as the owner? Hell no he won't match.
    Parsons isn't a max player.

"here's the real catch: Parsons signing an offer sheet creates a cap hold of the size of the offer for both Houston and Dallas"

    Is this true?

So basically we are capped out right now? His contract is now 15million unless we say we won't match??

yeah, i think this is the problem. we have to get bosh to make his decision by tonite really. we still need to trade lin for more space and we cant get deng, ariza, or any other guy since we would be over the cap due to parsons cap hold. we only have bird rights for parsons. otherwise, we would be over the cap by signing other free agents.

It is overpaid apparently. However, I'd expect it will be matched by Morey. Fortunately it is only 3 years. As reported a few days ago when he became the RFA, the rockets would match whatever the market price is. As of now, the rockets has not got any free agency signed yet. Losing Parsons will be a big blow to this team.
I am sure the FO regrets now that Rocktes did not pick up the final year of his last contract.

Deng is only 29. Yes he doesn't shoot threes that well but on this team he will have more space to operate. Plus he is much better than parsons defensively. AND he can only be cheaper.

Wrong. If the Rockets thought there was anyway Parson would out price them they would have picked up his option and traded him. They had all the leverage. they knew the possibilities. Patience.

so the priority is getting bosh to make his decision tonite...if he says yes about coming here, we trade lin asap assuming it is really in place with philly....need to get that done first and foremost.

    Cuban is such a troll

He knows that if Chandler signs they get a good player and screw the rockets, and they know if we match then we overpaid.

    smh

He has no clue. Anything he says would merely be a guess.

Deng is only 29 but might as well be 39. :p

    Thanks Tom Thibodeau!

He won't be much cheaper, if at all.
