Kobe would have dumped the young core for AD too.

So Magic Johnson for bottom 3 GMs in the league? Will they ever truly disrespect him on TV for what he's done? Randle, Russell, Zubac, who am I missing?

It's his first year to be averaging 20pts. His ts% is less than league average and he is going to be a FA this off season. Not saying magic didn't screw up, but druss doesn't look like the next harden.

it’s his 2nd year getting any real opportunity...only 22 and already averaging 21 and 7 on decent percentages...his TS will never be elite because he doesn’t get to the line

no one is calling him the next Harden, but the Lakers just gave him away

Los Angeles Lakers rookie D'Angelo Russell is reportedly in a heap of trouble. A video emerged last week allegedly showing him secretly videotaping and recording a conversation in which he asked teammate Nick Young questions about being with other women, according to ESPN.com's Baxter Holmes and Marc Stein.

"Russell and Young are friends, but the video, which was surreptitiously shot a couple of months ago, according to a person with knowledge of it, could drive a wedge between them," reported the Los Angeles Times' Mike Bresnahan on Wednesday.

Bresnahan reported Russell apologized to Young, who accepted the apology.

Citing sources, Holmes and Stein reported that "trust in Russell is eroding" from some teammates now that the video has gone public. Sources also told the two reporters that "Lakers officials are aware of the issue and are dismayed with Russell."

"Right now, they're handling it by isolating him," a source told Holmes and Stein.

Per Holmes, after Wednesday's practice, Russell said, "Nothing [to] talk about," as he walked past reporters.

According to Holmes and Stein, Russell can be heard on the video at one point asking Young, "You was 30 and she was 19?" with regard to a woman he met out one evening at a nightclub. The report also mentions that Russell can reportedly be heard asking, "What about Amber Rose?" before Young responded, "No, she knows my girl."

A source also told Holmes and Stein that locker room trust in Russell has nosedived to the point that none of the rookie's teammates would sit with him at a recent breakfast meeting.

Bleacher Report's Kevin Ding reported Russell thought nobody would see his prank on Snapchat.

TMZ reported later in the day that Azalea and Young are "not on good terms," with both parties unhappy about the video.

The reported incident comes on the heels of a string of comments from head coach Byron Scott, who has repeatedly discussed Russell's immaturity in not-so-glowing terms.

"D’Angelo still has a playfulness about him," Scott said on Feb. 11, per Holmes. "Sometimes in practice he’s joking around and losing a little bit of focus. But he’s 19. I understand that. Chris Paul was probably like 23 years old by the time he came into the league in his mental capacity."

Earlier in February, Scott told reporters, "He's such a kid," according to Bresnahan. "I told him the other day, 'You're 19 but sometimes I think you're 14.'"

Rookie point guard D’Angelo Russell recently shared a grainy video online of teammate Nick Young appearing to admit that he cheated on his fiancée, Iggy Azalea.

The pop star responded to the controversy last night on social media, and Russell has reportedly been ostracized in his own locker room.

Said one team insider: “This was a prank gone wrong and a mistake by [Russell], and he has to be held accountable, but I would hope he isn’t overly criticized for it.” […] The emergence of the video, sources said, has been the talk of the locker room for the past several days and has led to a tangible strain between Russell and some teammates.

At a recent breakfast meeting, one source said, no Laker would sit with Russell at his table. The source added that, in another instance, Russell came into the locker room and sat next to guard Lou Williams, who got up and walked away. […] “It’s bad,” one team source said. “It’s about as bad as it can get. There were trust issues already. Now there’s no trust.”

Even before Russell’s recorded video became public, several Lakers sources have privately echoed (Byron) Scott’s criticisms throughout the 2015-16 season about the 20-year-old Russell’s maturity, work ethic and attitude. During an angry speech following a loss in Portland in late January, Kobe Bryant had also singled Russell and Julius Randle out about their poor play.

Yeah but it was Nick Young. Is it really worth trading away an all star talent because of an incident with Nick freaking Young?

McIntyre is an absolute CLOWN. A shill for FS1 that panders to the LOCAL LA media. Absolutely worthless drivel.

We can still point and laugh at him, however.

Lakers will be top of the west...time the media gets honest about Lebron, Magic Johnson and that horrendous roster. Feel bad for Luke though they need a veteran coach, he’s in over his head.

The Lakers had a fighting chance at making the playoffs when Lebron said he was playoff activated. It's true, that it was hard for him to come back very strongly after the groin injury, but he wasn't finished by any means. Other players were hurt, but I was surprised to see him not involving his teammates, passing has always been a big strength of his. They certainly are better than the Cavs players. The end of the season for them came when Lebron started blaming everyone else. Harden never does that.
The arrogance of the Lakers and the media knows no bounds. You have to earn success.
