I saw this clip in a tweet and watched it today. In short, Bernard Goldberg summarizes why he feels the left might be helping Trump unwittingly. I found myself nodding in agreement with him. And Goldberg is not necessarily a big Trump fan. Thought it was interesting and would be a good topic for all here to weigh in on.
Yeah, I think there's a lot of truth to that. Look at why he won the election, Trump was one of the most unlikable people around.....but then Hillary showed up and was even more unlikable. Right now, there's a ton of people that don't like the president, but the more the hard left comes out from under the bridges they live under and fling dung, the better he looks by comparison. The best thing they could do would be to keep quiet and let him hang himself with his own words.

Look at just about any riot or violent protest that has taken place in the last 20 years.....those are your "hard left" leaders at work.

Venezuela had thousands protest yesterday... what a bunch of Commie citizens fighting against the pure Democratic great leader that is Maduro. GM pulling out of Venezuela as part of a protest to the government as well... what a Commie organization. Portraying any type of protest as a hard left stance that is on equal footing as the alt Right and portrayed as an act of "communism" is deeply dangerous and frankly easy for someone to do sitting in their living room eating cheetos off their chest watching tv. Just a few years ago the Most passionate Conservatives exercised their right to protest (T Party) and nobody offered a blanket classification of "Communists" for that group of regular American people. You want to compare Trump to folks on the left and give a test of who is more "American" fine... let's do it. But don't play this blanket "They" game with a non existing person that doesn't exist.
Sorry Donny but the Right can take ownership of their own creation started years ago when Rupert Murdoch put Roger Ailes in charge of Fox News and created a powder keg fear mongering White suburban middle America political machine. The consolidation of media of course holds some blame. Forced "branding" into our politics with customer loyalty being key. But I go back really to the pivotal period of Sarah Palin. Palin was a republican leadership campaign response to Obama and from that point on the next steps ultimately led to the Tea Party and then Trump. Again the Right leadership can take ownership of their own creation. George Bush supporters weren't responsible for the Iraq war which likely led to Obama being elected with his opposition message. Bush and Cheney were responsible for Lying to the American people. To a certain extent Bin Laden is responsible for the age of fear that Fox News and the Right used as an engine to drive their Machine. Blaming the voters in this case for circumstance of major events that they have no control of isn't fair blame. This is simply the Right not knowing who to cast as an enemy so they are trying out the proverbial "They". Now you can criticize the dnc leadership like Pelosi, Schmumer etc. if you want but connecting them to the ALL of the folks going to town halls etc is crazy. Most of them likely prefer a change in leadership at the DNC anyways. Most probably want Hillary to retire and let new leaders emerge. This blanket "left" blame game is pure propoganda IMO.
