Well, they have Hopkins, one of the best WR's in the game, he's open when he's not open. Hell last week Nuk got a TD that was thrown to the DB instead of him.
They have Demaryius Thomas a guy who was a #1 WR just last season and is still a VERY good possession receiver, he's open when he's not open because he's got the size and strength to get 50/50 passes
They have Fuller/Coutee/Carter who are very good/pretty good/serviceable respectively in the slot.
They have 3 better than average receiving TE's.

They have an amazing speed RB in Lamar Miller who is a threat to chew up massive yards on just about any carry where he gets the ball in space....but he's largely wasted because BOB is a moron.

Again, swap that for what the Patriots have and the Patriots become the top offense in the NFL and the Texans fall to the bottom.

Uh, in Rivers's first 2 years as a starter some guy named LaDanian Tomlinson had over 4000 yds from scrimmage and scored 49 TDs. He also had a pretty good TE then too, Antonio Gates.

Also might have helped that they had 1st team all-pros at LT/LG/C and FB during those 2 season.

Sure, he had a good RB and one good TE. The Texans have a very good RB (when used properly), 2 amazing WR's, and 3 above average receiving TE's.....that's more help. We just need a head coach that can call plays to take advantage of that talent and a QB that will hit his guys when they are open instead of holding on to the ball and taking sacks.

When healthy we might have that.

Our OL sucks.. . especially compared to one with all-pro candidates.

Watson needs to do better though. True.

    Neither get good separation.

Carter prior to the Texans had 2 receptions on the year as a UFA in 2015 making his first appearance in the NFL 3 years later. Watson has utilized him well for his talent level(not drafted)

Fuller has not been healthy nor has Coutee. It sure doesn't help that when they do play, they don't practice all week and are game time decisions limiting the offense's ability to gel.

None of their TE's are even in the top 32 of TE's in the NFL currently(Above average? What?)

Lamar Miller is a mediocre RB in the NFL in regards to receiving and running the ball. He can break arm tackles, but rarely has shown the ability to make someone miss in the second level.

The Texans have one of, if not the worst pass blocking line in the league(Ranked 31st in the league per football outsiders).

NE has one of the best lines in the league and their QB is not taking advantage of it.
Josh Gordon, Gronk, and Edleman aren't slouches.

Watson is doing a marvelous job not turning the ball over. But man he has to learn quickly to get rid of the ball. A lot of those sacks were on him yesterday.

    LOL your bias is showing.

You call LaDanian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates, two of the best ever at their positions, merely "good"

You call Lamar Miller, "very good" and D-Hop/Fuller "amazing"

So you are saying that you would rather have Lamar Miller over L.T. because Miller is very good while LT is just good. You're also saying that you would rather have Fuller over a peak Antonio Gates.

Didn’t the have Vincent Jackson? He was pretty damn good.

They had a very good offense even if I’m wrong about Jackson. LT is imo the 2nd best RB in nfl history.

Very disrespectful to even mention miller in the same sentence.

Not to mention Darren Sproles who turned 5 yd passes into 30 yd gains.

Anyone see two hall of fame QBs miss wide open receivers today? I guess Deshaun is in good company

Yep Deshaun, Keenum, Fitz, Hoyer, Osweiller all have missed wide open targets, taken sacks for waiting too long to throw, and all had horrible offensive lines, and a brilliant offensive coach.

you wouldn't think Deshaun would be this polarizing on the interwebz since we had Hoylett and brock but here we are.

I think people got spoiled after last season and expected the same out of him this season.

Some people like me didn't watch him last season so only go by what they see now. Do you think he was better last year?

The plays were just different. Think a lot of the Miami game and the last scoring drive yesterday. Also a lo more RPO and designed runs. The Texans weren't in the lead as often (sans the Titans game) so they needed to score points.

Not really, you are just missing my point. The Texans have depth along with top tier talent, Tomlinson and Gates are just 2 guys. Nuk Hopkins is arguably the best WR in the NFL and while Gates was a very good receiving TE, he's pretty much a wash with Demaryius Thomas.

The Texans simply have more depth this year than what the Chargers had.
