Yep, that's why i was suggesting Asik more, Ajinca is also on a decent contract overall, Asik on the other hand...11/12M for 3 more years, player option last season...it's really a bad contract for a guy glued on the bench...they should just stretch him to at least have some more cap space at this point...
I think there's no chance. I think they will try to trade him this summer or during the next trade deadline.
Yes, it is. But in this case, Phoenix could promise to make him whole and actually lower his cap number slightly by buying him out and re-signing him in the summer (if necessary). And frankly after this past summer...I'm thinking Chandler would actually get more money this summer than what he's due on this contract. And that's the thought behind a possible Lopez buyout.
Plus, Ariza has one more good season left ?! This is why the Rockets championship window is 2 years. That's why I was glad the Rockets traded their 1st rd pick.
Casspi cleared waivers & is a free agent - Stein Bogut has reached a buyout with Philadelphia & is evaluating contenders - Shams Calderon has reached a buyout with LA & is expected to sign with Golden State - Shams
@Codman once posted that the Kings had too much talent to be underperforming as they do game-in, game-out. I agree and would suggest the Suns are doing the same as well.....as evidence by so many ClutchFans calling for players on the Suns team. Dudley/Chandler/PJ Tucker/Knight, others. I'm guessing the Rockets end up picking up Larry Sanders (month playing for Rox getting in shape) and Casspi. Casspi may be best SF available the Rockets can pick up and use in the playoffs. He should be healthy by then.
He is, but he'd still get a stretch of games with Houston before the playoffs. Rockets could have 3-4 well above average 3 pt shooters on the floor in stretches, even off the bench with Casspi. Obviously, Bogut's decision is what comes first. I think the Rockets having the most to offer him, is keeping them in play as he's really got the four best teams in the league too choose from. I don't think Bogut is coming honestly. Casspi for sure for 1 of what should be 3 open spots (waive Brown and Taylor) I don't know if there's a good defensive wing, but if there is I'd like him for the depth and if there's not one available I'd like two bruisers who can rebound. Certainly L. Sanders, Splitter, Scola whoever else can do that. Bev/Lou/PG or SG vet Harden/Gordon Ariza/Dekker/Casspi Anderson/Harrell/Wiltjer Capela/Nene/Sanders or Splitter/Onu
Yes, Casspi broke thumb in Rockets game on Feb 23rd. Out 4-6 weeks. Lowry just had surgery and is out 4-5 weeks. Many expect Lowry back in time for the playoffs. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, I can tell you the average broken bone heals in about 4 weeks. Kids heal sooner (about 3 wks) while our *geriatric population may take closer to 5-6 weeks. 6 weeks from Feb 23rd is April 7th.........Final Rockets game is April 12th. I expect Casspi ready after 4 weeks with practice time to boot. *different issues may slow the healing process, i. e. compromised circulation possibly associated with a condition like Diabetes. Problem is teams need to set playoff rosters by March 1st. He would need to be added prior. Fall-Back option
Hoping that Afflalo gets waived. Perfect backup wing, career 39% from 3, former defensive stalwart, and his contract is partially guaranteed for next year. Kings need to tank and they know it. Afflalo has a sore hammy and they have no need for him.
I was thinking the same. Chandler can be cut or agree a buyout Maybe with our 3.5 M we can help the Suns to agree a buyout.
I see the rotation as: Harden/ L-Will Bev/ Gordon Ariza/ Casspi Ryno/ Dekker Capela/ Harrell/ Nene/ *Sanders............inactive: Wiltjer/ Taylor/ Chinanu *I'm not sure Morey & Mr. Alexander are up for taking on the risk of a Larry Sanders. I would. But, I'm not against your lineup.
Larry Sanders wouldn't be a huge risk. He either dominates and gets a nice deal from another team next year or flames out and is still an upgrade as a #3 center who gets scrub minutes
