LOL... leave it to people to b**** and whine about us not shelling out more money for an undrafted player who has had less than 30 decent to good games in his career.

But if we lose a playoff game I'm sure some illiterate inbred will take that as conclusive proof House would have been the playoff difference maker.

Seems fairly obvious that House would make all the difference in the playoffs - he has 0 NBA playoff games to date, and is such a mental midget he prefers to earn 100k over 2 years than 4.2 mill over 3.
Essentially he needs to get a 4.1mill contract for 2021 to make up for screwing himself.
Players do not tend to get 4.1million offers after spending the season playing Gleague (which is where Morey will leave him to rot NEXT YEAR if he doesn't sign his 3 year)

Clearly this mental midget of a human would make all the difference in the playoffs, and the proof is in the Rockets winning more games when he doesn't play vs when he does.... wait, what?

(Disclaimer: I like House. I really really wish he had signed. But I also hate locker room cancer guys, and a guy who has 7 good NBA games not wanting to earn his dues on a rookie style contract screams DANGER)

Not sure which of the many House threads I called it in, but I said essentially the same. If we don’t win it all this year someone(if not many many more) will absolutely say House would have made the difference. I also find it extemely likely that not “resting” our guys will be a very close 2nd.

And don't forget "he would be better than Shumpert" (obscuring the fact he is 9th man in an 8 man rotation... like all good playoff teams)

If we lose to GSW people here will say House could've locked up KD while scoring on Steph and dunking on Cousins. Cuz we all know all these max players don't have a prayer against GLeague House.

Morey needs to bite the bullet and convert him. If we had no shot at the title, I'd agree with sending a message for future 2-way contract negotiations. However, this isn't anymore about maximizing asset value by signing up a cheap long term contract. The way the team is playing now, with GSW underperforming, House can increase our title chances from 20% to 25-30%. This incremental improvement is worth to us more than getting a player worth $3-5m at a $1.4m contract.

Defense is what matters in the playoffs so Shumpert will get nod over House.. case closed (mic drop)

Yeah once DD has a crush on a player the player ends up in Europe or out of basketball. Look at D-mo too.

This amount is completely wrong. Danuel House has made way more than 50k this season (he made that before the season even started). So far he has made this season:

50k from Golden state for exhibit 10 deal in preseason
    77k from G-league Salary
200k+ from 45 days pro-rated minimum with Rockets

    Could also earn:

165K if Rockets bring him on after G-league season ends Mar 24 (highly likely)

200K if he plays on playoff roster

    Has already missed out on:

Around 150k in prorated salary if he took the minimum deal immediately. Seeing that he started out making 50k and could make 500k still this season, I think he might be ok.

The best hope for the Rockets to retain Danuel House beyond this season is to:

-- Wait until March 24 to call him up on his two-way contract
-- Wait until it is practically impossible for Clint Capela to hit either of his individual incentives
-- THEN use most/all of the room under the luxury tax threshold to pay House in exchange for getting a second year at the vet minimum

It is wise for the Rockets to offer more money in the future if they feel he can continue to grow. 3 & D guys are at a premium in the league today, with 3 & D guys that can penetrate and create their own shot being offered top dollar.

I think a fair comparison for House after 1 season would be Robert Covington. Covington did not start any games with the Rockets or have any meaningful stats, but got D-league rookie of the year and D-league All-star MVP. Then got a 3 year minimum deal from 76ers. His deal was an absolute bargain, which can be proven by his over 1500% raise on next deal. If he had negotiated better and gotten 3 years and 6 mil vs 3 years and 3 mil, he would have still been a greatly underpaid. I think if the Rockets had signed Covington to a 3 year minimum deal we would have been able to get Butler (but probably would rather have Covington).

    House's resume:

    • Averaged 24 mins a game for a playoff team and got wins
    • Played for GS and HOU 2 of the best teams in the league this year
    • Started 12 games and only lost 3 of them
    • Shot 39% 3pt on 4 attempts per game and 46% FG
    • Shot 52% 3pt on 4.3 attempts per game and 49% FG in his starts (= against starters)
I think this is enough to say House will at least get some looks. There are only 20 guys in the NBA that shoot better from 3 with as many attempts. Also his per game production is comparable to guys like Danny Green (10mil) , Kyle Korver (7.5mil ), & Joe Harris (8mil) Marco Bellineli (6mil) Davis Bertans (7mil). There are a few of guys on rookie deals who compare, but not really in the same convo since they haven't had any type of free agency.

Waitaminute... House increases our odds of winning a title by 10%?

Is this Danuel House Jr. we're talking about? That Vipers' guy?

I think this is what we'd be looking at over a 2 year span. I'd really like to know what "partial" bird rights come from a 2 year deal?
