Now that would make sense. As soon I read it in your post, I saw the C & G.

Of course I agree that there's no way that is the new logo. My point is simply that, in any context, that logo sucks. Blyech.

OK....i said it was an interesting post and happening. I didn't say meet your new logo. Regardless, I think there has to be something to it. Maybe just the new colors, maybe it is the next Crane group picture (although I doubt MLB would approve of providing free cross-marketing for Crane), maybe it is just some crazy coincidence and just a random .jpeg got thrown into the code (highly unlikely).

The point is, there is something behind it....now what that entails....no one knows. But yes, obviously that is a corporate logo design and not an actual sports logo.

    Good work detectives.

Those aren't the colors. The blue is navy.

so basically, the only thing you haven't told us/you don't quite know is if the cap is identical to old cap, or an updated version of star with H.

He won't give a one post rundown of what he actually knows because it is far to fun to just play games apparently. The whole "I'll tell you but you've got to guess first" business.

he's more or less told us everything he knows at some point or another in the thread (i think?). probably could have done it in an easier, more forthright fashion, but hard to complain since he doesn't really have to tell us anything to begin with.

No matter what this is, I imagine Cyrus One will not be too happy about it.

There's no way that's true. Crane said he will mix in something from our present with something from our past. Would could he possible take from our present other than the open star?

He's not taking our current colors. He's not taking the cursive script. He's not taking the pinstripes, so what is it that he's taking from our present if not the open star?

    The open star is recognizable.

If we put a "real" star, we might as well be the Dallas Cowboys or the Dallas Stars.

Stop it. Just about everyone, including those outside of Houston, associate the Stros with the closed star and 'H'. As JNicks has displayed above^, the retro is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than the current.

The orginial hat logo from 65-93 is right up there with the dodgers, yankees, and giants as far as classic hats.
