The source is the Italian CDC https://www.repubblica.it/cronaca/2...0116/?ref=RHPPTP-BH-I251620115-C12-P4-S3.3-T1 There is probably article also in english but I can't bother to find it now. Don't believe this bullcrap about blood types. THere is ZERO scientific proof or connection. It's just a statistical study about something random. It has the same importance as if it was about horoscope or the lenght of the victims hair.
Makes me wanna buy a Hyundai. Seriously, though, I agree. Much smaller country, but pretty good response.
Studies say it jumped to humans around the end of Octomber - start of November. No it isn't neccessary that people would die immediately after the spillover, because the virus wasn't well adapted to humans then. It could be very little contagious /highly lethal => there would be only a few sporadic deaths, or not lethal at all and just harmless. The first noticeable deaths were piling up in the beginning of December.
Russias reported numbers are what scares me the most. I dont think this turns it into a D&D but they border China and theyre currently sitting at 147 cases and 33 deaths. I said in jest earlier in this thread about Russia being the one to release the virus in Wuhan just to get a conflict going between China and the US. Whats sad is, it really isnt out of the realm of possibilities.
London is slowly shutting down its public transportation. Tube and buses. They say by Friday Johnson plans to put the city on lockdown.
The only place in Italy that is virus free, is the town where they tested everyone. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ss-tests-in-italian-town-have-halted-covid-19 "“Here there were the first two cases. We tested everyone, even if the ‘experts’ told us this was a mistake: 3,000 tests. We found 66 positives, who we isolated for 14 days, and after that 6 of them were still positive. And that is how we ended it.’’
I think its important that we sit back and realize how blessed we are that we're in the USA. At least we have somewhat of a safety net below us and we live in the richest country on the planet. I have relatives and friends in developing countries who are worried because the government is analyzing the price of their lives. Those governments are calculating if eliminating 3% of the population is worth bankrupting the country for life. They dont have food, water, basic necessity anywhere in the town and the country doesnt have dollars to even import them for the average citizen. We're blessed to live in America. There's always people b****ing and whining about government but we forget how truly blessed we are as a nation. This includes myself.
I can't believe Fox couldn't find someone better to discuss this new drug -- dude had to read his entire statement.
Well it looks there may be some genetic factors ,apart from pre existing conditions which makes hydroxychloroquine dangerous, that for some people it doesn't work "The cause of failure for hydroxychloroquine treatment should be investigated by testing the isolated SARS-CoV-2 strains of the non-respondents and analyzing their genome, and by analyzing the host factors that may be associated with the metabolism of hydroxychloroquine. The existence of hydroxychloroquine failure in two patients (mother and son) is more suggestive of the last mechanism of resistance." Also 3 /26 in the group were transfered in the ICU and 1 died. Anyway let them use it now in Italy, France and Spain. There is sitll time for much bigger clinical trials until we are hit here.
British people who also live in a rich country have their government analyzing the price of their lives. Johnson refused to close the schools all this time because it was 3% of the GDP. Unfortunately you can have food water and basic necessities but your country still treat you like expendable.

Chloroquine and several other drugs have already been included in China's national official guideline to diagnose and treat COVID-19. A local guideline from Shanghai -- the second most populous city in China -- recommended hydroxychloroquine as another treatment option for mild cases and local doctors say it is safer than other options. Hydroxychloroquine has generally been believed to cause fewer side effects than chloroquine when it is used to treat other diseases such as malarial (see https://www.hopkinslupus.org/lupus-treatment/lupus-medications/antimalarial-drugs/).
