We have a new problem now. The last days there are thousands of european "tourists" who come to tiny greek islands to escape the pandemic. Italian, German and French mostly. Many of them own summer houses and bring their whole families and friends. They don't understand that if they bring the virus with them and the islands get sick there is no salvage with island hospitals. That's why we are going to stop every flight from every country including EU from Sunday. This island with the "tourists" has only 2 doctors. If the pandemic hits, the flight and ferry connection may stop too .I guess they rather die looking at this than stay in their home. Spoiler Don't come here because the result is we are just going to die all together.

China officially recommended the use of avigan. It has been around for almost 20 years. Availability is its issue. Chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine has been around since the 40s and is well understood from a safety profile. It is cheap and widely available. It was recommended against SARS as a preventative and a treatment and it has quickly shown promise against covid 19 in China. Obviously we don’t know everything with these drugs and covid19 but at the same time we are basically doing meatball surgery. We don’t need things to be perfect. I think I saw Bayer was going to donate a large amount of chloroquine to the US. Simple vitamin D supplements have also been shown to be beneficial against respiratory infections as well. It’s too bad people will probably overdose on it if you tell them to take it everyday though.

Oh please..if it was China instead that went now to take the tests from Italy, everyone here would be blaming them and calling them shameful.
