So this is the lawsuit that got kind of laughed off because it was by the DNC ultimately, and everyone thought it made them look butthurt. But if Trump's lawyers only defense is free speech, maybe that wasn't such a sour grapes lawsuit after all. Knowingly Trafficking stolen goods is a crime to the best of my knowledge, and the defense looks to NOT be a claim of ignorance that they were stolen which would be the most obvious defense. If I know a car is stolen, and I sell that car myself for my benefit, that should absolutely be a crime I can be charged or fined for. Its widely established that opposition research has value to a political campaign. There's nothing in this defense for the Trump campaign than to admit they trafficked in stolen goods, and walk away with nothing but a fine. But they are obviously trying to avoid any type of discovery & blocking evidence for some reason by waiving around 1st amendment rights. Why is that?

For all the talk from the “what happened to innocent until proven guilty” (with MBS and Kavanaugh) crowd, you’d think they’d be patting libs on the back for holding out their pre judgement on Peter Smith and his suspicious death. That is... if they really care about “innocent until proven guilty”. If the shoe was on the other foot, you know damn well Hannity and co wouid run segments nightly where it was just assumed Smith was murdered as a cover up by the Dems. It’s pretty telling how high of a standard we set for ourselves (rightly so) that even in such an obvious case, nobody is jumping into conspiracy absolutes.
