Well, we know for a fact that Barkley's analytics were not championship-worthy.

 

Yes. Barkley's an analyst on one of the NBA's premiere shows. People assume he knows what he's talking about. His hatred of the Rockets (and to a lesser extent Shaq's attitude about Howard) mean that when the Rockets play in front of a national audience most of the analysis is driven by a negative agenda, no matter how well the team or (in particular Harden) plays. This can definitely affects the Rockets organization from recruiting to marketing.

I'm waiting on when (if ever) TNT invites James Harden as a guest speaker. You guys think about this for a second, if Charles leaves.. who is the next selling point in the show? Yes Charles Barkley gets paid for his opinion (however moronic and unsustainable it is) but the media has never been high on the Rockets.

What have the Rockets really done past win championships in the mid 90's? We're probably the 3rd relevant team after the Spurs and the Mavericks. Everyone disrespected Durant for years until last year. Everyone seems to be a Rockets hater but hopefully this drives Harden and the rest of the Rockets to get better. Once they're consistently putting in efforts night in and night out on both sides of the floor, maybe the rest of the basketball world will finally fear us. Harden is definitely taking plenty of steps to being a great 2 way player.

Barkley has been an idiot for a long time. Great baller, very entertaining, not a great thinker though. He's too biased.

But I don't think anyone, Morey included, every thought Harden would be the player he is today. The Harden we traded for is not the Harden on the court today.

The improvement has been leaps and bounds. Harden has grown so much. He didn't shoot off the dribble like he does now (remember iso ball in the dark ages) and he certainly didn't have the mid range game he has now.

Harden is the complete player - master of every thing. He is fundamental.

 

Mayweather also puts million dollar bets on sports.

There's no correlation between Barkley hating on morey and gambling .
