I also struggled with it, but I think he's just saying the Knicks deal is more likely to happen on Thursday than today.

meaning that the knicks deal is the fallback that they will do on thursday but not today because they are listening to offers from other teams. now that the asking price for McGrady has been somewhat established (young talent, picks, expiring and one bad contract) other teams may come in and offer more for McGrady

i think originally a possibility of the rockets standing pat was legit but now they more than likely will make a move and trade tmac

This has turned into pure madness. Yesterday I thought the Knicks deal was about 99%. Now I have no idea

wow...so i feel a little less stupid for reading it a few times.

What I got out of that paragraph was that: the chances of something happening have increased regarding Rockets making a deal.

If the Knicks trade with Houston happens, Larry Hughes will be in the package -- not Al Harrington, league sources tell Y! Sports.

THAT SUCKS IN MY OPINION...I'D RATHER HAVE HARRINGTON THAN HUGHES!!

Someone posted in another thread:"If the Knicks trade with Houston happens, Larry Hughes will be in the package -- not Al Harrington, league sources tell Y! Sports"

I would say the Knicks's deal could be dead if this is true.

As would I, but neither are in our long terms plans and both expire at the end of the season. I wouldn't expect to even see either crack the rotation.

^ not really hughes can be traded for a piece IF morey is willing to take on another contract beyond 2010 of course depending on who that piece is it will have lux tax implications in 2011

i think most important what is the market right now for hughes and his 13 million expiring?

i never believed for once that harrington was going to be part of the deal he is actually a contributor on that knicks team they werent going to give him up

I hope some how we involve a 3rd team because honestly, ohther than Harrington, no one on the Knicks roster really impresses me. If we do end up with a deal with Philly, Phoenix or Chicago, I hope we get Iggy, Amare or Deng outta it. BTW, what ever happened to the Antwan Jamison rumors?

In terms of talent, definitely. But, you figure both players were going to be 30 game rentals since they are both expiring contracts. And in terms of long run success, Hughes may be better because he won't help us win as many games as Al potentially could, which means possibly a higher draft pick.

Not crack the rotation? Now thats a little extreme too. Hughes would get time at the 2 and Al would be a back up C for sure. They have no effect to our plans beyond this season and their impact will be minimal but to not crack to rotation, I dont think thats correct either.

I just don't view it as a "deal breaker." Perhaps that would mean Cook doesn't go to New York. Oh, Happy Day. ;)

Yeah but Harrington averages 18 pts a game where Hughes averages I think 4 pts per game :(
