    No, Bosh had a pulmonary embolism which is life threatening and can kill you, one of the top causes for sudden death. DVT by itself is not life threatening but the danger is if the clot moves and gets lodged in the pulmonary artery and becomes a PE.

    One of the main risk factors for DVT is immobilization. That's why you should always move your legs during long flights and bed ridden patients have compression devices on their feet. Maybe his injury caused him to remain immobile and he developed this clot.
