Incorrect. Even if we ignore his mediocre second season playoffs, there's no explaining his first playoffs when he returned to Cleveland. He scored 30ppg on 27 shots, that season was littered with garbage games from him. That was with Irving (no Love). There's a very clear pattern in Lebron's career. In fact, it's a pattern in everyone's NBA career. When you team up with 2 other superstars, you play great. When you're just 1 superstar, you are going to have garbage playoff games. And if you compare the careers of Harden, Lebron and Paul when they didn't have 2 stars around them, there's not much difference once you take conference and teammates into consideration. The most significant thing any of them (including Westbrook and Durant btw) have done without 2 superstar teammates is Lebron getting swept in the Finals. Lebron has never won a title without 2 superstars. The only people in recent history who have done it (arguably) are Kawhi Leonard and Steph Curry. They have won titles without 2 superstar teammates, and what separated them imo is that they were on elite defensive teams. Let's see what Paul and Harden do just the two of them and MDA/Morey/Bzdelik. We can beat anyone and Harden can best anyone.
Nope, Dirk was just unstoppable. Don't try to take that from Dirk, one of the greatest with his greatest season of all. Lebron played fine, Dirk was just better, if you want you can put the statistics for each game and keeping proving me right go right ahead. Game 7 he scored 21 on 60% shooting, 40% from 3, with 6 reb, and 6 ast on his first year playing with the Heat. He was 1 of 4 from the free throw so yeah what a midget. This being the year he learned to play facilitator with Dwade who avg 25 points for the season. You missed it. The extremes and hyperbole, it gets old. Maybe we can have a baseline of what mental midget means of what it means to "take off" or have a "bad post series". If x,y,z then you are t. Otherwise, these discussion are pure nonsense.
dirk was amazing those playoffs. that 2011 championship run was one of the most inspiring performances that I've ever seen from a superstar. He dropped like 50 against OKC in the WCF that year too. He was always money in 4th quarters that whole postseason. Either way lebron sucked in those finals, that is disrespecting dirk or taking anything away from him. it's just true. JJ barrea was better than lebron in some of those games.
Keep in mind that DanToni is one of the greatest coaches for regular season in the nba history, but one of the worst coaches in the playoffs history. Honestly Cavs look better for me than Rockets in the playoffs. They will not have trouble to make the finals.
Going against the Timberwolves and the Thunder would make me nervous. The rest we will steamroll. We dodged a bullet with the Spurs officially being too old.
- Injuries. - MDA ignoring our incredible depth and running a 8 man rotation in the playoffs (unlikely but still) - LeBron going Super Saiyan God mode in the Finals
The only team that can stop us from winning it all is, drum line: We ourselves (The Rockets). On the cool the Warriors are that team and the Thunder and Spurs will be threats as well.
Talentwise: Lakers: one of the best teams in the nba history. Dantoni coach Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Steve Nash and Dwight Howard together. Suns: one of the best teams in the nba history Last year I watched the Game 6 only against Spurs All of these, proves what I said. His timeout = blowout Without Kawhi Leonard , what is your excuse?
nobody fears Rockets, even Spurs pop, Cavs, Celtics, Raptors and so on....... It is all about playoffs success!
Just as I thought. Not only did you miss that series, you also missed the Mavs series against the Warriors in the first round where Dirk disappeared so bad that Cuban was thinking of bringing in a lawsuit against Nelson for "shutting him down". One of greatest first round flops I have seen by a MVP. Dirk's performance in the series has nothing to do with LeBron sucking in the same series. Learn to properly construct your arguments. But since you brought Dirk into the conversation, I thought might as well bring his choke job up too. Now you can go back and keep looking at the box scores while the rest of us actually watch the games and remember how the series unfolded.
A washed-up 38 year old Nash, a declining Pau Gasol, Kobe Bryant on his last leg, and a Dwight Howard who should have been sidelined from back injuries is your definition of "one of the best teams in the nba history"? Did you even watch that team?
They will learn to “Fear The Beard” and the rest of the Rockets!! RedNation!! Rockets don’t fear them either. Warriors came back from 20 points in their most recent game. Most teams would have folded. Rockets just gathered themselves and made Curry their little Biyatch!! Carry on Ball Scientist
As @Swiss Roll mentioned. Nash missed the entire season with nerve problems in his back. Kobe tore his Achilles before the playoffs. Dwight was not 100% with his back. Pau Gasol is soft.
