If you’ve bought into thier ecosystem, how many of thier modern products do you own and still use? I’ve never paid attention until recently completing one of thier follow-up email surveys. But I literally have and use all of thier products except for the HomePod and iPod. And that’s only because I literally have no use for them. Anyone else starting to realize that you spend way too much money on Apple’s frivolous ish? That said, I just got the new iPad Pro and Apple Pencil 2 and love it!
Laptop iPhone apple watch AirPods love all 4. You get what you pay for. MacBooks are the best laptops I've ever owned. That's why I've only needed to buy two in the last 10 years
1 Macbook - never really used it that much, sister is using it now 1 AppleTV that I got for free from DirecTV Now - this is my primary tv viewing device since it runs Plex, Netflix, League Pass etc. iPhone 3GS, 4, 5, 6+, X
3 iPhones 1 iPad 2 Apple Watches 1 Macbook Pro Not frivolity at all. It's a time saver. I don't have time for hacky-wacky Android.
I dunno, normally I'd say it can be a pain to get away from samsung's android offering (for example) but on their newest 9 series phones I haven't even bothered to run a separate launcher... Having said that, it did take multiple iterations to get it working like it should have from the start. And iPhones definitely pretty smooth out of the box. Even when I first got the iPhone 3g (or heck even original iPhone). Anyway I still have a MacBook Pro somewhere, but I sold all my other Apple products, 3G/4/5 iPhones and 4th Gen iPad. I will tell you as far as resale (especially ebay/clist like) Apple products are king for resale. It's amazing, I mean I sold that damn iPad 4 16gb base model (so first gen with the newer plug but like 4/5 years old) recently for almost a hundred, good luck doing that with an Android product. But yeah, I joined the Android side, oh well... I just liked the openness of having a lot more options. Regardless though, the new Apple watch looks pretty sweet
No AirPods? I'm debating on getting one. I got an apple tv recently and it the apps are much smoother than my amazon stick or roku tv.
I don't get the appeal for airpods, homepod, or the watch. And none of their desktops are priced for a power home user. They are limited in some ways. The pro is expensive as hell, the mini is underpowered, the iMacs are not upgradeable so you have to replace the entire thing.
I liked Macs back in the days of Windows XP where a Windows computer would slow down after several months. I used to constantly reinstall XP while I never had any issues with Mac OS. I finally got tired of the over inflated prices and don't have any issues with the new versions of Windows. I had iPhone 3G and 4, decided to switch to Android so that I wouldn't need overpriced goofy only good for one thing charging cables.
macbook air and an apple tv, that I never like and I dont use anymore. Agree with the macbook being the best laptop Ive ever owned, but also agree with not having a problem with my other laptop that runs windows 10. Never will I own an iphone.
tried a mac mini for programming purposes years ago. hated it. Never touched an apple product since. Hate em.
If I bought a box that could not be upgraded and only supported a limited amount of hardware and software, then yes, I would expect it to run perfect. I would also expect it to be significant cheaper. Just as if I bought a box that could be upgraded and supported nearly endless choices of hardware and software, I would expect it to be buggy. With Windows 10, you can find plenty out of the box solutions that are well supported.
I personally will never leave the surface line of products. Best laptops/tablets out there, and MS has always been good to me whenever I've needed support. I've considered upgrading my old android tablet with LTE to an iPad. I'm also mulling the iPhone because the Pixel is still a verizon product and some the features don't translate to AT&T (I get a massive AT&T discount, 36% off, so Verizon can't even come close in terms of cost). I like the look of apple's line of products, but I just don't like a locked experience (hence why I'm in pain running my Samsung phone).
