The press conference wouldn't be for at least a couple of days so there is no chance of that.

With Indiana possibly losing David West this off-season, maybe the 11th pick could be a possibility for Jones (in addition to 18th pick).

Indy still has Paul George as their franchise player, so re-starting off from scratch at the PF spot with a wet-behind-the-ears rookie doesn't seem like something they want to do. Jones is young, athletic, experienced, and a starting caliber PF who can still improve.

    Agree. NSA insider confirms that.

Everyone is talking about having to move Ariza to make a LMA S&T work, but there is a riskier, although possible, way for that not to be the case.

It really just involves gaining unguaranteed contracts now. Let's say we trade TJones to the Cavs for Haywood's contract, I believe this works at his lower number now before he jumps to his full unguaranteed amount for trades. Cavs might be willing to do this if they know they are going to lose Love in free agency. (this is just one unguaranteed contract example, I'm sure there are other ways to make it work, especially if you included Papa in this part of the deal to gain a larger unguaranteed contract)
Then to acquire LMA you move Haywood (for salary reasons), Papa (as a wing player, not necessarily salary reasons), Nick Johnson, some 2nd rounders (could include D-Mo if absolutely necessary). Again, LMA could be so far out the door that POR has no leverage, so the package may be enough over him just signing outright with Dallas (and POR getting nothing in return).

If I had to choose I'd personally rather trade for Lowry than for LMA. Lowry would be locked up for half the salary and our biggest need is at the PG spot. Dmo can hold the PF fine and a trade for LMA would require Ariza to be included and probably DMo too. With Lowry and Harden locked in a 12 & 17mm respectively that would still leave room to play in 2016.

I'd like our options better with Lowry if a trade was possible and he rounds our team out best.

    I love Daryl Morey.

Here is a summation of Rockets rumors on draft night:
    Rockets trying to trade up!
    Rockets trying to trade down!
Rockets trying to add a pick!
    Rockets trying to dump salary!
Rockets trying to add a starter!

Rockets: All your rumors are belong to us!

This has been addressed, but you wouldn't be able to combined Haywood's contract with anyone else as part of a trade to bring in a star once you traded for it due to the time restrictions.

Lowry is injury prone and his style of play will only get him injured more often.

Perhaps but if we're talking PG's which is what we should be looking for, I like him better than Lawson and he's better than Llull. Who else would you have to fill out PG need?

Indeed. I got a headache from all of this. I am starting to believe no rocket rumour that comes in the press except if its from cyber or woj.

Rockets are doing a good job of misdirection and distraction. No one knows what they're doing so no one has leverage against them......I just hope that's their intention and it's not actually that they don't know what they're doing.

Adam Silver: "Khloe Kardashian, power forward; Beverly Hills high school."

Jeff Van Gundy: "Risky pick but I like it, she has a real nose for the ball. Her father was a former Heisman Trophy winner."

Jay Bilas: "Shrek as she is called, has a lot of raw talent but she lets anyone drive the lane and those knees have a lot of wear."

Jeff Van Gundy: "Yeah but she has the thick backside that James Harden desires."

Jay Bilas: "Again how long until it breaks down."

    I don't think it's even misdirection really.

Morey exhausts every single scenario, so every rumor probably has a kernel of truth to it. Morey HAS looked at trading down, trading up, trading out of the draft, adding a pick, dumping salary, adding salary, etc.

I may be in the minority but T Jones/18th pick/KPAP for a top 10 pick might be feasible. I just don't know who's willing to do it.

My thing is... T Jones is 23 with 1 year on deal before he's restricted. That's SUPER valuable.

The guy might not have hit his peak yet.

Doc just tweeted he wishes we could just move up and draft booker. I admit I was anti booker at first but he has been growing on me lately.

    ....like a butt hair.

If that were the case, I'd take Hezonja, but I think he'll be out of reach.
