    The same way some Rockets fans are talking down on this are the same way most NBA fans were talking down on the Josh Smith signing..just saying. I hate the Mavs but I mean this is still a great pickup for them.

    The Mavs have a really INTERESTING team. I'm just not sure how it will translate to playoff success.

    what does Amare really offer at this point

    his offense has declined to a very average level

    never has or will play defense

    what exactly is he gonna offer Dallars, a 6'11 short range jump shooter with shot knees

    Something better than what they have? ie nothing, if he can do 3 or 4 pick and rolls a game, its probably 2 points+ that he can generate they wouldn't get out of what's there right now, and non existent defense doesn't cost you anything when replacing non existent defense.

    Josh Smith was an injury plagued version of his younger self? All I have seen folks say about Amare is that he is an injury prone non game-changer that can't defend. Is that untrue?

    His offense is not average those season. I guess people here are blinded by their distaste fot all things Dallas. He's being brought in to replace Wright, a role he should flourish in.

    He does give them limited depth if he can stay healthy. Mavs are fighting for the last playoff spots with or without them.
