I don't see either as being able to defend the 4, but I like having two long athletic guys who can shoot and defend. We can find 30 min for Ariza off the bench.

Ariza isn't a primary offensive option. His sole year in Houston should have been enough to realize that.

    He's starting SF with Parsons.

Manu Ginobili makes just as much.

I wholeheartedly see Ariza with his value of a deal being moved later this year for a bigger deal.

    Ariza is an asset.

Best case scenario would be if T-Jones bulked up this summer. Then he could actually play defense and we could keep the same starting lineup.

Ariza could be our 6th man (Ginobili) or Boris Diaw roles goes to Parsons since Parsons is a beast passer.

Asik didn't want to be here so he was goner from the get go.... Lin leaving is a huge upgrade and probably the biggest move yet in the offseason in the league.... Parsons did what was best for him and signed a huge contract with the enemy (The Devil) for a fortune... At that moment he risked his career in Houston and was in a win win situation financially but screwed Houston over..... Let Dallas have it and choke on it for the 46 million..... Ariza is solid on Defense and Clutch as hell....... I say let Parsons walk and good luck when he faces Houston next year here in Houston.....

I think Parsons gets matched and used as trade bait next year.

Great value signing. Ariza is best as a 3rd/4th option, which he will be on this team. 3&D and athletic is exactly what we needed and exactly what we got.

Remember, Ariza will be only one on this team that actually WON a championship - with the Lakers in 2009 as a complementary player. He will have a very similar, slightly bigger role on this team.

Backed into a corner, this is the best possible move Morey could have made; more are sure to come, but Morey has lessened the pressure and created opportunities to come out of this positively.

I don't think we match Parsons. I would love to see us sign Birdman and Marion and retain Daniels, and maybe even bring over Capella now and hope he develops quickly:
    Beverley/Canaan/Johnson
    Harden/Daniels/Johnson
    Ariza/Marion/Covington
    Marion/Jones/Capella
    Howard/Birdman/DMo
Maybe even take a flier on Okafor as 5th big, see if he can return healthy and provide defense/rebounding.
