Jesus, Harden is so bad on defense. I'm speechless.

You can't... And Bosh wouldn't have helped either.

I think this means we sign Parsons also and have him play more stretch 4 (while starting at the 3 and having Ariza as the sixth man). We got our much needed wing defender. I like this move.

At $8 million this is a robbery. Bring him off the bench and match Chandler Parsons.

I'll be upset if we don't match Parsons.

Guys I think one of the main reasons Parsons defense has been bad compared to his rookie season is he's playing too many minutes. I think Harden probably plays too many minutes too. They don't have enough energy for D left over.

Bringing Ariza off the bench is a HUGE luxury for the team to have. You can cut Harden and Parsons minutes down and get better caliber of play from them while they're on the floor. In the meantime Ariza gets plenty of minutes off the bench.

We just need an Asik replacement now and we'll be in all right shape despite the disastrous Bosh BS.

First of all, LOVE the deal. I thought we were going to overpay for any free agent, but this is actually quite fair. And decreasing salary means the Rockets can get back into the market in 2-3 years.

Also, I really hope this ends up being a S&T so we can keep our MLE. Since the Asik deal isn't done yet, that would make it the perfect 3-team deal. I want to see our top Euro stashes come over this year.

If he can back up 2 positions then he'd be playing nearly as many minutes as a starter...

Chuck is great at forcing players to take jumpers, I don't think we want Aldridge to be taking jumpers. We need to get someone tall/long enough to put a hand in his face (which is why Bosh would have been so great).

Wow, what a great deal, $8 million compared to Parson's $15?!? Is Parsons twice the player Ariza is? No.

With that being said, as I've posted before, if he can just be happy as our 6th man, then matching Parson's would be OK. Now, if we decline on Parson's deal, we need to spend that money going after an excellent starting point guard to run this offense ala Bledsoe, Dragic, Rondo, etc.

And off topic, what is happening with the Asik deal anyone???

Still a bunch of different directions we could go.

I think we match Parsons now, and use the rest of the cap space. Still need a big and a guard.

In a way, it will now be hilarious if we match Parsons.

Think about it- Cuban tried to screw us over by giving Parsons that contract. I'm sure they were thinking that if they didn't get Parsons, they could always then pursue Ariza or Deng.

Well, in the meantime, we instead signed one of the players that could have been a replacement for them...and then match Parsons away from them? Haha!

Imagine if we were able to get Marion for the BAE or room exception? And then Deng goes to Miami?

Dallas would be left with a huge hole at the 3 with no really great options left. I kind of hope that happens. Just to wipe that smug smile off of Cuban's face from that bar in Orlando!

    Stupid Cuban....

People need to stop being clouded by the Ariza we saw here the first time.

    1. That was a much bigger role for him and honestly one that didn't suit his strengths.
    2. He is a much more consistent shooter now and more well-rounded overall.

He's going to be good here. Really good.
