That's fine too, I really don't care about Miami. They can be the 6th seed in the east, make the EAST stronger.

Makes sense Ariza can run the break, shoot the three and play D. Deng ain't trying to run anymore. Contract stipulations plays a bigger part too.

    Something to remember:

The Rockets were looking for another wing player, preferably one who can defend and shoot, even with Parsons on the roster already. Parsons and Harden were playing heavy minutes every game and they never found a sub for them after trying out Garcia, Casspi and Hamilton in that role. The team basically had to go small (with the two of Lin, Beverley and Daniels) in the playoffs when one of its starting wings sat or when one of them plays PF.

Thinking Ariza might be the 6th man, depending on his contract.

Would love to know that too!! I was under the impression that if we sign a FA we lose our exceptions because they would have to be renounced in order to clear that capspace. If that's true, I just assume match Parsons and keep the exceptions.

Glad no Deng and hopefully no Ariza...Morey can talk until doomsday, I will never accept him getting Ariza as the biggest FA in this off-season.

    d'oh.

So does it make sense to sign Ariza and Parsons? Assume Ariza is the 6th man, no chance he plays PF, right? Pretty much same issue as Parsons, not strong enough to guard big PFs...

Not a big fan of Ariza. Certainly not instead of CP25. Ariza as a bench rotation guy, fine I guess.

Do not underestimate how valuable CP25's dibble shot creation is on this team. Ariza is poor at is.

It sounds like Deng is getting a contract similar to Parsons offer sheet, therefore Rockets out of the running because CP is the better get. Ariza is an option only if he can be signed for considerably less than Deng/Parsons.

yeah same here...I think in Carl's post about cap-implications and with all of the exceptions, there was little added benefit to not signing Parsons, even if we can't snag anyone before his RFA deal expires...

Why would Ariza come here with CP25 here? Ariza wants to start, and he is not starting ahead of Parsons.

If we can pry away Gibson and Dunlevy without losing TJ or the NO pick (if chi is still in pursuit of Melo), sign Augustine, and then re-sign Parsons, I'd still consider this a successful offseason. Add D, shooting, and depth.

    Trevor Ariza, yuck.

Wouldn't sign here if I was him. Morey gonna flip that asset again in a year.

I would take Gibson off there hands.

Give them a future first. This guy would greatly improve the defense on PNR situations. That is what made Bosh so attractive. You can be the best in the league on the ball(Beverley), but when that pick is set, it is up the big man to make it happen.

The problem is that, given that Parsons and Hayward got $15M+/yr and if Deng is to end up signing a similarly sized offer, this may set Ariza's value higher and make it unlikely that he can be signed for "considerably less" than Parsons.

Remember, the Wizards still want him-- lowballed him so far, but as it is with MIA and Bosh, can always up their offer-- and the Mavericks will likely chase him if Parsons got matched. So, it's not exactly like there is no demand for the guy.
