Meeting a friend for dinner around south Houston/ pearland area. She wants to grab crawfish. Suggestions?
That's cute, you think eating 4 lbs is crushing it. I easily eat over 10 lbs of crawfish and the only reason I stop is because I get too many cuts on my fingers and the acid starts to burn. And then nobody else is still eating so I don't like being the only one still eating crawfish. Crawfish is as much a delicacy as it is a social gathering. If only it weren't so expensive at restaurants or a task to make for a single person. Anyway, whoever said Jolynn's on Beechnut, they have good crawfish. Definitely have to get Asian style crawfish. The stuff they have at Rajin Cajun got no flavor.
I really wasnt implying that 4 lbs equals "crushing it bro!!!". However, I ate 4 lbs quick, therefore in my eyes, I crushed 4 lbs. But thats cool man. Im glad you are the Crawfish King.
My cousin mentioned a place called Wolfies. Havent been there but she says it's really good. Ive been meaning to check out Sams Boat for a while.
yea, 4 lbs is child's play. hell i don't consider 10 lbs a lot either considering 2/3s of that weight is just shells. it's definitely a great social gathering. looking to buy some a couple of 30# bags soon and just party it up in the backyard.
I was enjoying this thread already but it's moved to a new level. Now people are bragging and acting like they are more manly because of how many crawfish they eat? That's hilarious.
The reason I created this thread was to have a place where people could review different restaurants serving crawfish and help them decide where to go. But I guess people feel the need to brag more than chime in with helpful reviews/info. It's kinda sad to be honest
it was only Duncan's post and he did give a recommendation at the end. while i did agree with him on that 4 lbs wasn't much i didn't mean to come off as smarmy.
Glad this thread came up...I've been to two so far in Houston: 1) Bayou City Seafood and Pasta - Great flavor, but they didn't cook potato/corn with crafish, wtf 2) BBs - Not as good as above, but the same frkn thing, didn't cook pappas/corn with crawfish, is that the new trend? I'm trying Ragin Cajun next and I remember Willies in Pasadena being good, but people tell me Floyd's in Pearland is aight...
Careful with your expectations. My experience was disappointing. Very high priced, really small, & really not that good.
Anyplace that isn't so high priced and is actually good? Don't feel like paying 8 dollars a pound for crawfish that is just boiled in water than just seasoned later on.
Yes, MARDI GRA GRILL. Seasoned perfectly, corn and potatoes, and $5.99 a lb. Rajun Cajun is overrated on everything, I wouldn't expect their crawfish to be any different.
