Chuck is the next man in the rotation, and will have to play significant minutes. Scola and Landry still have foul issues. What Dikembe has left is uncertain. Chuck will bring his defense, quickness, and high basketball IQ. His play will be key for the rest of the season. Those who don't think Rockets can do it can jump off the bandwagon. Just make sure you don't come back.
Chuck is a 1 on 1 defender, not a team defender. Chuck won't defend the paint like Yao, its on mutumbo to do that.
I'd sign the Chuckster, before putting Chuck Hayes at starting center. Deke moves back to the front of this line.
Give me Jackie Butler back and at least Deke can shoot free throws better than anyone else left on the team.
Im with you man. chuck is an elite defender and thats all we need him for. he's not gonna get out muscled by many centers (which there only happen to be very few true centers left in the league) and he can hold his own against the PF's. the added passes that he gets from mcgrady is a plus too. imagine this: no more TO's from passes into the paint to Yao Ming, instead, McGrady/Alston will be dishing it to hayes, landry, and scola (who can handle the strong passes in the paint)
Perhaps not giving Chuck Hayes significant minutes is *why* we were on a winning streak. Our offensive efficiency went way up and our defensive efficiency stayed about the same since Chuck stopped starting (see SI power rankings) ....
