Kobe doesn’t give a shiit double team. He still can get what he wants.

Yes because you are asking certain olayers to do things like creat off the dribble when they have little practice doing it. What Harden accomplishes by just standing at the half court line like that is make his teammates do things they aren't used to doing which the defense will take all day.

It is about who has the ball there

Having Westie there is fine. . . .
    but
What happened was they had ANYONE BUT WESTIE there . . .and then left Westie open to jack 3s

Because Kobe will run into the post and run around in all positions of a half court sets off the ball. He scored in many ways outside of iso ball.

What's crazy is that if you watch enough games, you'll see basically every single superstar in the league have moments like this.

However, it is Harden and we know every single thing he does or doesn't do is magnified 10x compared to anyone else in the league.

The issue is that those players cannot hit open shots. . . Harden moving to contort the defense will make them making open shots?

Actually no. Then proof is self evident in the fact that Mcgrady did this once in as a Rocket in Toronto and it was a famous meme on this message board for a while. Superstars don't do this often.

with russ struggling so much i was thinking about clemons too.

but then realized he's still on his 2 way contract and tilman ain't paying him just like house last season. so mda can't play him even if he wants to.

    Yes.

He was hanging around the top of the three point line.

Imagine thinking just having an extra defender hanging around the three point line doesn't affect the offense.

A great shooter moving off the ball using screens and curls results in more mistakes by the defense which can result in things like back door cuts. It also can lead to Harden having more shot clean shot attempts.

I've never seen a fan base so ademenent that off ball movement is not necessary.

Noticed that during the game. He thought he was fouled right before that clip started and was pouting for not getting the call. They just don’t play hard all the time. Golden State wanted it more. The effort and inconsistencies of this team can be maddeningly frustrating at times.

Jesus.... those Warriors fans are having a good time on Twitter tonight. They know this will be their biggest win this season and that they're not making the playoffs. Luckiest team in this era. Everything went for then. I'm willing to bet that when Curry and Klay have moved on, they'll switch teams to the next team full of all-stars.

They're still trashing Harden, yet he only had 1 free throw, shot efficiently, had 24 points and 11 assists. All from getting double teamed from half court for most of the game. Every other team and coach is scared of Harden. Wouldn't surprise if every other team does this from now on.

I just wish Harden had consistent good support and a good coach around him. I know Westbrook has been good the last 7 games or so, but he's pretty predictable when you double team Harden. Literally just back off him and let him that little bit of space because you know he's going to brick it most of the time.

Yeah, Westbrook was just bad tonight. In every way. He’s been really good the last 10 games, but he was bad tonight. Hope it’s a blip.

The obvious adjustment for this double Harden 40 feet from the basket is to surround him with shooters and penetrators. Capela and Chandler should get DNP-CDs in games like these. Unfortunately, Gordon and Green are out, because both would be quite useful in these situations.

People complain about the offense, and it did suck in the 4th.

But the real issue is giving up 116 to the warriors without curry and klay

A top offense over a course of a large sample size of regular season games but the Rocket offense drops in efficiency more than other contending teams in the playoffs because the style of offense the Rockets run is very predictable to plan against in along series.

I don't ever recall seeing other superstars stand at half court completely out of a play like that (so far he man jumped into the defensive pressure on House at the end) and he doesn't do that once in a while especially when double teamed. Today was a classic Harden I'm going to play lazy as hell day coupled with a sh**ty Russ shooting (and everyone not named House) day. I've seen Harden do this several times a game (usually losses) let alone in several games this year.
