Sorry for being a jerk about that. I know some people criticized the Texans after Denver's Super Bowl totally ignoring the Damaecus Ware and Von Miller won that Super Bowl Elway is a good GM. Putting those linebackers together covered damn near the whole field the whole field Two Ray Lewises, but I digress
No problem. I think kubiak is a better coach than I thought in retrospect, but that team did win with defense.
Big time Free Agents? I don't know who the free agents are. Signing random Free Agents just to sign someone is not the Texans style.
Osweiler. Lamar Miller. Honey Badger. Roby. Fulton. Jeff Allen. I don't think expensive free agents is usually the way to go though. It's quite risky.
Bill O'Brien not abandoning the run ever has worked here. He actually closes games well. Didn't he have some kind of streak of winning after leading after 3 quarters?
It's not about abandoning the run. Balance is always key in any offense. And Deshaun's numbers on play action are through the roof. But you can set up the run other ways, keep that front seven on their heels. Instead, you make it easier for the defense not even challenging them.
BoB does not close game well, hence the criticism of poor clock mangement. He is however solid at preserving leads utilizing a conservative playstyle. Not abandoning the run even if its not working, isnt a viable strat its just BoB not adapting/being stubborn. Sure one shouldnt give up on it, but In this game BoB should have use variety of different rush plays and not his favorite ramming it up the middle.
That wasn’t random, that was ORDERED by Bob McNair (to Rick Smith). Brock was basically the only QB with a pulse available.
It's not as conservative as he thinks. He's giving the other team chances to come back and win/tie the game. God knows the Pats have done that before with ease. If the Texans would just get one first down on those final possessions, the game would be over without sweating it.
O'Brien was very high on him after reviewing his film in the off-season. Just like he was high on hoyer, mallet and savage
No...he wasn't. He never met Brock in person. That was a Rick Smith signing. Don't believe anything that was said after the signing. And don't post a quote from O'Brien. That was being a team player. O'Brien didn't want Brock.
It was reported multiple times how high he was on him. I don't find the idea that he just praised Brock and lied plausible
So 4th and 2 against the chiefs with 2 minutes left and giving it to Watson to throw for the win? Did you miss that game? Or are we just going to focus on the games he ran the ball then punted where we also won the game?
He was not high Brock. Waste of time to argue about something that doesn’t matter. O’Brien is not being fired. So, whine all you want.
