So, not much. Say we wanted to do a deal with Butler- is that even possible anymore? We’d need a 3rd team to take capella without sending back money- that doesn’t look like it’s out there other than the LA teams. I’m sure I’m missing something. I know Butler isn’t coming here. I’m talking about is it even theoretically possible?
no. This is a s+t not just a trade. Butler is the main decision maker on his destination the 76ers can't just decide on their own to send him elswhere. Miami will just have to pony up more and more assets to make it possible. Now that Dallas gave Curry a contract too, the price for capspace is rising by the second. Soon Miami will have to talk to Atlanta and couple of other teams and complete a 4-5 team S+T looool.
Watch the Rockets get involved. The Rockets have agreed to be the third wheel before if it benefits them. Obviously the Heat will eventually find a trade partner......... but how awkward would it be if the Heat don't get this straightened out and Butler has to find another team to go to. I have no doubt that the Rockets would take him.
I'd love to see Morey do this, then at the last minute, say, "Hold up. I thought you said we'd be getting Butler!"
Knicks no longer have cap space and both LA teams will wait on Kawhi to make his decision before they think about Butler.
I’d rather have Paul than Dragic. I’d rather have Tucker than Hayward. I’d rather have Clint than Whiteside. I get some of the contracts may be better, but we’re trying to win. I’d rather not downgrade at 3 positions.
