Wilbon: Taking shots at the Blazers, stop. Stop taking shots at the Blazers. They're not as good as the Warriors. Neither are the Rockets. They also did something the Rockets didn't do. They stayed on the court and behaved with a whole lot of class and shook hands and wished the victor well.

Kornheiser be like Makes you want to punch the Rockets in the teeth.

:D LOL TK didn't say that this time.

In his own words, he literally called up the Golden State GM and told him he wanted to sign there. He didn’t give any other team a chance.

**** Wilbon. Other than CP3, the rest of the Rockets did stay on the court and wished them well.

Man, I remember when he was actually relevant with good takes. Now, he’s just a bitter old man long past his prime. Guess being around Tony that much rubbed off on him.

The amount of non-calls at critical junctions and then being called for every little tic tac contact is infuriating for the 4th consecutive series against this team.

Man some of these guys like Wilbon talk nostalgic of the 90s and how everyone hated each other. Like Bulls-Pistons rivalry. They always talk that up as being some magical thing and now insult the Rockets because they some players didn't stick around to wish them well.

Notice how no one on GSW team cares. They understand.

No one cares about this except for media and fans. When Mitchell did it you didn't hear a peep from a single Rockets player about it. They understand.

Any ways, Portland was just happy to be there and got rolled over and never thought they were really winning that series.

I mean, to be fair, everyone criticized Isiah Thomas and the Pistons for walking off the court without congratulating the Bulls. In fact, it totally ruined their image--they were seen as classless and pouty.

So should we also question Hakeem's rings given the absence of Jordan? Such questioning are sour grapes imo. Those same people will be the ones to turn around and mock those that fail to win rings.

The NBA has been screwed up for a long time with shocking trade deals (like Gasol to Lakers, CP3 blocked etc), draft lottery outcomes (Cavs, Pelicans etc), tanking processes rewarded etc that I see no reason to criticize any player that gives himself the best opportunity to win a ring cos when its all said and done, independent of the circumstance nor the level of your individual stats, not having a ring leaves you on the outside looking in on the group of those that do.

They had their chance but they didnt make any offers.

If you are going to take less money, you might as well go to a team that wont rush you back from a serious injury while still giving you the best shot at getting a ring. It was very smart decision imo

If Dream left the Rockets before he won any rings and joined the Bulls to win them then you know damn well he would get even less respect than he does now. He lead his team to 2 championships and people still discredit him.

Dirk and Dream’s championships are worth way more than KD’s as far as legacy goes. The narrative with them is that they lead their teams to destiny. Same with Jordan, Kobe, and LeBron.

KD and Cousins glommed on to an existing champion. Same could be said for Drexler, but to a lesser extent. KD will remain excluded as well unless he leads a team to greatness. That’s the only way he can get his name mentioned with LeBron, Kobe, and Jordan.

Glomming on to a champion can never elevate you to the status of all time great. You have to take a team that would not be a contender without you to at least one title, realistically 2 or more. KD hasn’t done that. I think he’s good enough to do it though. I really like his game and personally think he is the best player in the NBA. He just gave up on OKC a little too soon and is selling himself short on this stacked GS team.

Go to a non-contender and take them to multiple titles and I would put him right there with the GOAT’s. I think most people would.

If a rockets fan questioned clutch city and didn’t know Jordan lost to Orlando in 1995
    He’s not a Rockets fan
He never was and never will be

Durant did lead his teams to greatness. That is what Finals MVP literally means. The take that Durant didn't lead Warriors these past two seasons is way off.

Finals MVP is a award voted on by like 10 people. Voting awards are worthless

Nobody should ever question it cos they didnt ask MJ to retire.

They won the championship, under what circumstance is secondary imo. A ring is a ring!!!

I didn’t say that at all. I said he needs to lead a team that wouldn’t be a contender without him to at least 2 titles to be mentioned in the same breath as MJ, Kobe, LeBron, Dream, etc. Take anyone of those guys off those teams and they don’t even contend.

KD on the other hand lead a team that would likely win a championship WITH OR WITHOUT him to 2 titles. At the very least they would contend.

GS went to the finals before he was there and they got back to the finals this year while he sat out half the 2nd round and all of the 3rd. They freaking swept all 6 playoff games without him this year. They have always been contenders.

I’ll also take the time to reiterate that I think he’s the best all around player in the NBA.
