Not the most exciting trade for another Allstar, but an upgrade exactly where the Rockets need. If losing Ariza was supposed to doom the season like everyone said, shouldn't adding Shumpert save it? He is probably going to start for the Rockets over Gordon and is better than House, Burks, Temple/J.Green or Ellington. Besides a superstar aren't those the players you guys wanted? Yes we gave up a low first round pick and second rounder. Knight is a negative asset so you have to give something up to turn him into a rotation player/possible starter. The reaction in this thread has been outright dumb.
The funny thing is, imagine the reaction of the board if we signed House to a 3 year deal. Season saved! Y'all would really rather have someone with 25 total meaningful NBA games under his belt to start in the playoffs against the Warriors? Meanwhile Shumpert was actually the starter for the Cavs when they beat the Warriors, but he's "trash"? I like House and I think he still has upside. But low-key, Shumpert is only 3 years older, and the gap in experience is the size of the Atlantic Ocean. In a tough 7 game series its not even close which one I'd rather have.
Haven't watched him last few years, but he used to be a great defender on fast guards, which is what we soly missed
Bounceback season for Shumpert. He's been as good this year as he's ever been... which still isn't that great... but he might fill a need.
U know after a cool off period. The plus is he will be able to gaurd curry n klay. Hell can anyone gaurd kd anyways. So if we lock down curry n klay. Maybe we just let kd go off n everyone else play bad. So that's a bright side.
Need a Bima thread. With Knights contract off the books for next year are we projected to have any cap space?
I wish folks would stop: - Calling him a great defender cuz he's not. - Acting like he was a difference maker vs GS in the Finals. He was trash in the first two and injured for the third. He doesn't make any impact vs GS, especially against Durant.
