Actually, I'd put Tucker in right, Kemp in left, try and trade Reddick. Yeah, we have great prospects but that won't solve everything. Trades and FA signings are part of the game. I still want Goldy and JT.
Can we take a look at our training and conditioning staff? What's with Altuve's knee and Correa's back that they are out of whack for a half-year already? Altuve should have gone for surgery maybe (like McCann's) and Correa could have sought other treatment. We could have gone out to reinforce our bats instead of waiting on these guys.
Ditto on Eovaldi. The exact kind of pitcher the Astros bring in and develop to the next level. Does have injury history though...
The astros don't have enough hitting. That was proven throughout the year. It might seem like that wasn't the case. But AJ has botched this playoffs pretty good though.
Astros have hit well enough. They're averaging like 6 runs/game this postseason -- without Altuve's obvious HR. Defense and pitching have failed them. Bradley's hitting like David Ortiz is a luck show.
Trading Reddick is such a stupid idea. He is an elite defender in right field (he saved two runs in the 9th last night), and is a rare lefthanded hitter that hits lefthanded pitching. Also, you might want to wait until Kyle Tucker actually proves he belongs in the big leagues before you go trading pieces from the MLB roster. Finally, having this discussion now is silly. The season isn’t over yet, and the Astros are more than capable of winning three in a row against anyone.
The Astros bullpen and all the gifts (passed balls, errors, hit by pitches, and wild pitches) the Astros have given the Red Sox are why this series is where it’s at. The Red Sox were given at least 3 runs on errors and wild pitches/passed balls last night and they got some in games 2 and 3 as well.
The astros have 770 ops vs 700 for boston. Boston hitting in the clutch has been insane, but our offense is actually better than boston. Our catching situation has not been good. Its like Garry Sanchez plays catcher for us.
This is stupid. There is no “choke city”. They won a title last year, and had the second best record this year and are playing the team with the best record this year. There are lots of things to b**** about (Texans? Politics? Job?) but the Astros are not one of them.
That year (1994) Choke City turned into Clutch City, right? Keep the faith. The law of averages will even out.
107 wins........you lose this series after going up 2-0. Well, you know. Batters are folding like lawn chairs. What happened to this VAUNTED offense? Since y'all like to bring up old threads......this one may live on. Astros...prove me wrong!
