And there is nothing wrong with that. We are absolutely willing to roll into next season with our current roster. It is already significantly improved over last year.
I don't get Doc's message. It says we get a bigpieCe if it goes 2far. Too far means means you messed up and lost. Does bigpieCe mean a big pie of Caca if Morey's jugular attempt fails?
Doc is saying that Morey can trigger the trade any time he wants to by including Capela, but he is trying to get Melo by only giving up Ryno.
Seriously, Llull is supposed to be a great player, we dont know if he could be truly successful in the NBA but his success abroad makes him "interesting" at the very least. I assume that Morey is or should be including his rights in any deal for Melo, and getting him to the USA should be a matter of money and a team willing to take a chance on him. Could the knicks sign him? whats their cap situation? Maybe another team that could be willing to give him a try along with Ryno and that facilitates the trade for Melo?
I'm no DocRocket hater like some...but this is not "news". It's no secret that adding a high-value piece like Capela will make trades easier to complete. That's basic logic. That might not be what Doc is actually implying, but if it is, then it's rather silly. The issue is there is truly zero reason to trade Capela. He is not only a great fit for the team at a position of need, but we have all the leverage in trade talks. It's absurd to even think about such a move.
And I wish people would stop adding CC into the mix. Like we could add Chandler or O'Quinn or some other average center and it would be the same. They don't have Clint's ability to go up and get the lob quickly off the p&r. We need that threat in our o.
Unless Morey has a replacement lined up. Tyson Chandler maybe? Capela is going to be RFA next summer. Maybe Morey is planning 2019 already...
Yeah, doesn't make sense, like i said in the other thread, some of you guys are too emotional...as soon as you read something like that tweet you assume we may trade Capela in this deal, would you really panic and offer Capela so easily? You know what? The Knicks would offer Capela to get Melo in a similar scenario lol
Knicks have lost so much leverage if Mills/Perry keep playing this game. They will lose another big piece to complete this Melo deal. - whether it's Hernangomez
Just curious... do you know anything about KOQ? http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Kyle-O-Quinn-6516/ http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Clint-Capela-6359/ Not saying they are equal.. but know who you are talking about. Plus O'Quinn can hit the 3 and IIRC he stuffed KATon two consecutive dunk attempts as well as blocking Howard among others. My point (again) prefer Capela (because he is still developing) but KOQ ain't a slouch. Also, if all you want is put backs, hard screens, P-N-R and rebounds (a rejuvenated) Tyson Chandler would bring it.
Yes, but it actually means Cousins both ways. Morey is going for the jugular meaning that he is saving Capela for Cousins. Morey knows he has to pay Capela. He is flexible for if LBJ if he comes here but what if he doesn't. Cousins is an awful nice consolation prize and insurance policy. Morey needs the Melo deal to be what it is so that if he gets Wade in a buyout later, he can package Capela and Gordon for Cousins. That is the last move he can make and will be tight as hell against the max. Having bird rights on CP3, Melo, Cousins, and Ariza means the Rockets have no weaknesses and no competition for their services. If LBJ wants to come they have the flexibility to make it work. In either case EGo is going. Sometimes its not just getting an asset but preparing for another asset as well.
