Since Chicago is pretty much blowing it up, Morey should focus on Jimmy Butler. He's from Houston and would be a great fit next to Harden. Regarding the new CBA, he's in an excellent contract as well. If you get Philadelphia involved and offer the Bulls a package around either Okafor or Noel along with young pieces like McDaniels, Capela, Harrell and Gentile plus several picks, you might get it done. Because of his recent injuries, the demanding price could be doable. So Ariza + Beverley (or maybe Gibson) to Philadelphia along with picks, Okafor/Noel + young players + picks to Chicago, Butler to Houston. The Bulls probably wouldn't want to send him to an Eastern Conference team.
Is Matthews even 100% yet? Would rather sign Harrison Barnes and trade for Bledsoe AND Noel. Forget the big FA names and concentrate on youth, upside and fit. Morey and Les are to in love with the names, focus on their games instead. Work the trades while everyone is trying clear cap room to sign 2.5 max contracts. Leverage opportunities instead of trying to manufacture opportunities, this has always been Morey's strength.
If Health concerns you, why would we trade for Bledsoe? Wes is smart and tough player. Let's get smart players for once.
With the rumors that ATL is considering trading Millsap to PHX for their picks... I don't see how Phoenix trades for Millsap without trading one of their PGs, which is a position the Hawks just handed over to Schroeder. ATL wants to make the deal for picks which would go from PHX to them in this deal - and this fortifies their bench with good value role players and solidifies their backup PG spot. The Rockets get their PG and the Suns get an All-NBA talent to add to their bevy of young talented players. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hjqgavs
Hawks can have Ariza but not Bev. Need Bev in package to get Noel. Otherwise liking the trade. Suns are also loaded with bigs since draft.
Would need to give up more than just Ariza for salary purposes if we take on Bledsoe. I love Bev too and want to keep him but if we can get a better PG back in a deal for him, I'd pull the trigger.
Because Bledsoe is easily the better player. More proven, more productive, more athletic, better ball handler, better distributor, better scorer and a better defender against 1's. Bledsoe is just a better fit next to Harden and for Rockets. And just as importantly Bledsoe is 26 while Matthews is 29.
I agree but would love swing trade for both Bledsoe and Noel. And Sixers seem to covet Beverley more than any of our assets. Maybe Hawks would like Dekker and rights to another player instead?
Bledsoe / Harden / ??? / Noel / DMo That is not bad at all, but let Dekker stay & start --> high bbIQ / blue collor player / does need the ball / over all nice fit.
Does NOT need the ball, rookie contract, the rest of the team would hide him at first then he would start to do all small things that it takes to win.
If Dekker is not traded, hope Rockets bring in Putney or Inglis just in case. Or maybe Gentile. A trade for both Bledsoe and Noel most likely includes Bev, Ariza, Brewer, KJ and Capela, and future picks probably.
This trade and couple of signings will put the Rockets on top, no doubt! http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=h6fohv5 Al Horford / Capela Griffin/ Ryan Anderson Ariza/Decker JJ Redick/ Terry Bledsoe/ GP2
