Said today on First Take that Harden was disheatened (several sources expressed the same sentiment) when they announced Curry as MVP, and that was the reason he played poorly. Also mentioned they expect him to try and prove who the real MVP is!
Wilbon has been saying the same thing. Unfortunate if true but it ain't too bad since Harden showed up strong eventually. Let's just hope it results in only good things in the series against GSW.
yeah but why wouldn't he try and prove who the real MVP is then? Sucking on court because he is pouting doesn't make a lot of sense....hope he can look into the anointed MVPs eyes and say "this is what an MVP looks like" ala Hakeem to Robinson
I think there is a lot of truth in this Harden said something along the likes of "our whole team has been overlooked, I have been overlooked" after the game 7 against the Clips. Clearly refers to the MVP.
Stephen A. Smith -- this guy is butthurt, this guy is a racist, this guy is gay, this guy is straight, women get hit sometimes, yada, yada, yada, get ****ed already.
Stephen A. is an idiot on anything non sports related. He gets way too political sometimes. His sources though are golden. Harden looked down to me. Hopefully he gets it together. we need him and Howard to be the best two players in the series.

No offense to tmacfor35 or MissouriRocket because it isn't a rule, but from now on anyone posting tweets or starting threads about Skip or SaS should get a timeout.
Sounds to me like ESPN is cooking up a narrative to sell the series. The Chef vs The Chef: Kitchen Wars!
P.S. Why does anyone care what Steven A. Smith and Skip Bayless say? They are million dollar(s) salaried trolls. Take the unpopular stance, rile everyone up on the internet and get people talking and get pageviews.
lol, so much this. His season numbers compared to the clips series are NOT that far off. Down like 1 point per game, up 1 assist per game, same rebounds, 1 more turnover, TS% down about 1%, FG% down about 5%, 3 point down about 1-2%. This was not some epic meltdown. He played slightly worse than his MVP season numbers.
I've been watching ESPN all day and all their talking about is how the Clippers need to upgrade the team.
You know how Harden looked all series? Eerily similar (yet better) to how he looked the previous 8 times he played against the Clippers. Think logically... is it possible Harden said he was upset about not receiving the MVP? That's obvious. Do you think Harden said - "yeah, I'm playing bad because I didn't get the MVP" - or do you think someone made a leap and connected two unrelated dots? It's not that hard to toss this **** into the garbage IMO.
Harden thrives at attacking the rim, but his efficiency was marred by one huge a$$ presence: DeAndre Jordan. The dude is a beast and truly does what Dwight does for us inside. He is a deterrent in the paint. James Harden hasnt been efficient with his shots yes, but he has played well...His turnovers were higher bc he had to pressure with a much tougher on the ball defense. Harden will do just fine against GSW. guaranteed.
