I guess its finally time to start this thread! Seems McNair likes the NFL experience history, so not really sure his chances at getting someone from the NCAAF.
This season our biggest failure was the quarterback position. What they need is a coach with experience who is good at developing Quarterbacks. Especially since we'll get the 1st pick and Teddy Bridgewater is a franchise quarterback and the favorite of next year's draft. Jon Gruden is the right fit for the job. Hands down and end of discussion.
Cowher is not coming here. Supposedly gruden was spotted at IAH the Saturday after thanksgiving, but he is a slim chance as well. I'd say the top candidates are Lovie Smith and David shaw.
But uncle Bob is looking for someone with head coaching experience. Jon Gruden is the right fit and won a Superbowl.

Shaw has had stints as an NFL assistant coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders and most recently the Baltimore Ravens. He was the offensive coordinator at Stanford from 2007-10 under Jim Harbaugh, now head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, before taking over as the Cardinal's head coach in 2011. Stanford has gone 33-6 under Shaw, including a 10-2 record this year. Stanford meets Arizona State on Saturday in the Pac-12 championship game. Earlier this season, Shaw was mentioned as a possible candidate for head coaching jobs at USC as well as Texas. He denied having interest in both jobs. Seriously doubt that Pancakes has insider info, but worth a mention nonetheless. Perhaps he's just parroting names he's heard from unconfirmed sources at Reliant.
